The Third Annual Stroke Awareness Golf Tournament in memory of Duane Sharp of Mifflinburg, was held June 28th at the Shade Mountain Golf Course, Middleburg. The day, meant to educate and highlight stroke prevention, brought 114 golfers to the event and raised $5,600 for Evangelical Community Hospital’s Acute Rehab, the unit that aids stroke patients in recovery.
Evangelical Community Hospital, Lewisburg, handles emergency care of strokes, provides diagnostic and interventional services to lessen the chance of stroke for high-risk patients, and provides care to those who have suffered a stroke through acute rehab to help patients regain quality of life.
