The April Kiwanis-sponsored ASPIRE award winners at the Mifflinburg Intermediate School have been announced by Principal Scott Zimmerman.
These awards are presented to students who have demonstrated positive leadership qualities such as kindness, responsibility and respect.  Each student selected will receive a cash award and certificate at the school’s June 7th assembly.  Recipients are chosen by the homeroom teachers.
The Fourth grade student is Alana Boyer. She is the daughter of Yvonne and Brett Boyer and lives with her grandparents, Ron and Jan Boyer of Mifflinburg. Alana’s favorite subjects are math and music. She is involed with the Girl Scouts and enjoys planting flowers.  She hopes to someday become a teacher and a gardener.
In fifth grade, Olivia Young, daughter of Mary and Brian Young of Mifflinburg, is being recognized.  She cites gym and math as her favorite subjects.  She is active in the choir at school and the Girl Scouts.  She enjoys playing soccer and basketball and hopes to become a teacher or pro soccer player.
