Lewisburg Library breaks ground for expansion

Nearly 30 people, including area lawmakers, attended a ceremonial groundbreaking Thursday morning for a $2.5 million 7,000 square-foot expansion and renovation project at The Public Library for Union County in Lewisburg. The library’s Board of Trustees hired LeFevre Wilk Architects of Selinsgrove to design the project, and the construction contract has been awarded to Keister Construction of Lewisburg. The project is expected to be completed by the end of 2008, and the library will remain open throughout the construction as much as possible.
