The winners of the International Lions Clubs Peace Poster Contest were honored recently at a meeting of the Millmont West Union Area Lions Club at Carriage Corner Restaurant in Mifflinburg. This is the 22nd annual contest to emphasize the importance of world peace to young people everywhere.  The theme for the poster this year is “The Power of Peace.”
Nine students from the Mifflinburg Area Middle School participated in the contest.  Four winners were chosen by a panel of judges from the Lions Club.  Each winner received a monetary gift, a photo of the winner and her poster, and a certificate from the Lions Club.
The first place winner was Chelsea Bush. Her poster was sent to the District Lions Club to be judged along with other poster winners from Clubs around the area.  Second place was Emily Smith.  Third place was Hollis Jacoby, and Honorable Mention winner was Tess Clawser.      The winners and their parents were guests of the Millmont West Union Area Lions Club, and other family members were welcomed also.  Club president, Lion Connie Boyer, congratulated the students, and committee chairperson, Lion Eleanor Gold made the presentations.
