All-American muscle, classic hot rods, even sleek sports cars were all on display at the Matchbox Car Show, held on Sat., January 28 at the West End Library, Laurelton.
Seven youngsters joined in the fun by showing off their collections and then putting them to the test in a Matchbox race. Lee Shaffer took the title of “Fastest Hot Rod,” while Levi Showalter garnered “Fastest Rescue Vehicle.” Other awards were given out throughout the day including “Most Awesome Mini-Car” and “Fastest Tractor.”
“Everyone went home with several trophies and memories of a fun day at the track,” said Lori Jo Showalter, children’s programming coordinator.
The library is planning to host another Matchbox Car Show near Father’s Day. More information will be available closer to that date.
