The May recipients of the Kiwanis-sponsored ASPIRE awards have been revealed by Mifflinburg Intermediate School principal, Scott Zimmerman. One student each is chosen from the 4th and 5th grades each month by the homeroom teachers to receive this recognition. Qualities that are displayed by these students are respect, kindness, fairness and a positive attitude, among others. Each award recipient will receive a certificate and cash award from the Kiwanis President, Mrs. Florence VanDyke, at the June 7th assembly.
Corbin Snyder, a fourth grader and son of Jeremy Snyder and Nicole Kenny, is in Mr. Bollinger’ homeroom. Math and gym are his favorite subjects. He loves sports and being outside and plays both football and basketball. He collects sports memorabilia and hopes to someday have a career in football.
Josh Foster, a fifth grader in Mrs. Hoy’s homeroom, is the son of Jerel and Susie Foster. His favorite class is math and he is also a sports enthusiast, playing football, baseball and basketball. He collects autographs and hopes to maybe become a sports physician.
