At a recent Jagdgebrauchshundverband (VJP) spring puppy test sponsored by Jagdgebrauchshundverein (JGV)-USA and held at the Union Beagle Club located near Lewisburg, Olivia vom Buffeltaler a ten month old Deutsch Drahthaar owned by Rebecca Casper of Honesdale, and handled by Dwight Runkle, who owns vom Buffeltaler Kennels, Mifflinburg, was the top scoring dog out of the ten dogs entered in the test. The dogs are scored in 5 different areas: hare track, field search, pointing, use of nose, and cooperation and can earn a total of 77 points. Olivia vom Buffeltaler completed the test with a score of 76 points. Runkle has been raising Deutsch Drahthaars since 1973.
