Swimming lessons at the Mifflinburg Pool have recently concluded.  With the exceptionally hot summer, the pool and park have been very popular.  Manager, Ron Bollinger, and his staff have worked very hard to offer a variety of programs to all ages this summer.
Swimming lessons were offered to adults, toddlers and those in between.  Two 2-week sessions were offered in three 45 minute time slots for six levels of ability.
Lifeguard/instructors were Katie Sauers, Ben Sauers, Amber Eberhart, Whitney Goddard, Caitlin Wells, Caitlyn Bomberger, Mark DeFord, Michael Jones, Michael Wagner, Mallery Bollinger, Micah Bollinger, Marc Bollinger, Maura McGlaughlin, Brandon Lepley, Maria Caruso and Molly Snyder. Additional employees were Abby Benner, Jessica Lloyd, Courtney Veley, Angela Miller, Kate Erb, Angelina Shubert and Hannah Shultz.  Mary Jones and Matt Wells were the assistant pool/park managers.
A daily craft time was also offered for the children. A variety of evening concerts in the park were also well attended.  Mr. Bollinger emphasizes that having the financial support of the Mifflinburg Borough has been paramount to being able to offer these programs at reasonable rates.
Unlike many communities who have to charge higher fees or rely on private or corporate donations, the Mifflinburg facility has remained solvent.
The Mifflinburg Kiwanis Club has again been very involved in helping to assure that the local children had an oppportunity to take swimming lessons.  The club covered twenty of the $30 fee for children in Levels I and II and then rebated the final $10 if the child had perfect attendance. More than 100 youngsters met this goal. Any child who qualified, but did not receive their rebate, can call 966-0623 through August 27th.
