10 AM – 2 PM
Homeschool Day: Geology Rocks!
    Learn about rock, minerals, and fossils during this hands-on session for ages 9 to 14.  They will discuss the rock cycle, mineral ID, and how fossils were formed.  They may also use a GPS to explore some of the parks geological features. Pre-registration is required please call 966-1455 to register.  Please bring a lunch and drinks.  Dress for both indoor and outdoor activities.

    The park is also scheduling field learning experiences for organized school groups for the 2012 season at this time so call soon to reserve a date for your class.  Visits to the park’s Halfway Run Environmental Learning Center and a list of program topics are available for each class and age level.  Wake up your class and get outdoors.

    R. B. Winter State Park is located along PA Rte. 192 - 18 miles west of Lewisburg, 25 miles east of Centre Hall. The Halfway Run Environmental Learning Center can be reached by traveling to the park’s west entrance.  Proceed on to Sand Mountain Road to the back parking area.  Turn right into the parking area.  The Halfway Run Environmental Learning Center is located near the lower left corner of the lot.
