    Four Mifflinburg High School Students have been selected to participate in the District VIII Chorus Festival February 25-28 at their home school.
    Selected for the honor as a result of their performances during personal auditions were seniors Lori Ilgen and William Walter,Jr., junior Mark Marino and sophomore Shelly Eberhart.
    Lori Ilgen is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Harvey Ilgen, of Mifflinburg, Miss Ilgen will sing first alto in the district festival. President and a three-year member of the school chorus, she has participated in the marching and concert bands for four years and the pep and stage bands for three years.
    Miss Ilgen has been a member of the chamber choir for two years and has participated in three school musicals. She plans to tour Europe this summer with the American Music Abroad Honor Choir.     Miss Ilgen has been a member of the art and business clubs for two years and the “Wildcat” staff for one year. She is president of her church youth group.
    William Walter, Jr. is son of Mr. and Mrs. William Walter, Sr. of Laurelton. This is the third year he has been named to district chorus, where he will sing first tenor. A cornet player, he has also been selected to participate in the District VIII Band Festival Jan. 21-24.
    Active in several musical ensembles, Mr. Watler is student conductor of the Wildcat marching band and a member of the pep and stage bands. He participated in the Mid-East All Star Band as a junior, was active in school musicals as a freshman and sophomore, and played a lead role in the musical as a junior. A soloist in the school’s annual variety show and a member of the chamber choir, he participated in a European choir tour last year and is a member of his church choir.
    A varsity letterman in tennis, Mr. Walter is president of his class for four years and vice-president for two years He has been a member of student council for three years, serving as council vice president as a junior, and has participated in intramurals, May Day and track and field day activities. He was the 1980-81 Daughters of the American Revolution Good Citizen Award winner at Mifflinburg High School.
    Mark Marino is the son of Joseph Marino of Lewisburg and Carol Sigler of Pensacola, Florida. Mark is the president of the high school band and a member of several musical ensembles and will sing Bass I in the district festival. He has participated in the marching and concert bands for three years and the stage and pep bands for two years. A two-year member of the chamber choir, he played a lead role in the school musical as a sophomore and has been a soloist in the annual variety show and May Day Program.
    A two-year student council member, Mark has participated in the children’s theatre productions both in Florida and the local area. He has performed with the Metamorphosis Acting Company and is a member of Situations Unlimited, a theatrical performing group. He was one of 328 Pennsylvania students receiving scholarships to the 1980 Pennsylvania Governor’s School for the Arts at Bucknell University, where he studied theatre and music.
    Shelly Eberhart is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. M. Lee Eberhart, Jr. of Mifflinburg, RD #1. Shelly will sing Soprano I in the festival. She has participated in the marching, concert, and stage bands and the chamber choir for two years. Shelly is a school chorus member, and has sung in her church choir for five years and traveled to Europe last summer under the American Music Abroad program. Shelly is a participant in the school musical as a freshman, and is a two-year student council member.
