Mrs. James Hoover and Miss Myrtle Thompson visited their sister, Miss Mary Thompson, in Dr. Hart’s Private Hospital, in Williamsport on Saturday.
Miss Jennie Neyhart was a caller in Lewisburg on Saturday. Mrs. Charles Bingaman of Millmont, was a business caller in town Monday afternoon. Mr. R.E. Stover of Tamaqua was a caller in town on Thursday. Mrs. A. A. Hopp was a caller in Lewisburg and Milton on Friday. Mrs. J. C. Slear attended the funeral services of her brother, Mr. George Kelly in Philadelphia this week. Mr. and Mrs. F. E. Sterling were callers in Sunbury Saturday evening. Mr. and Mrs. Torrence Zellers returned this week from a visit with relatives in Philadel-phia. Mr. William Zearfoss transacted business in this place Monday afternoon. Miss Elsie Wilson of Newark, N.J. was the guest of Miss Margaret Lodge, one day last week. Mrs. Edgar Rudy of Johnstown, spent Saturday at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Perry Hassinger in this place. Mrs. J. Charlton Hacken-berg and daughter Isabelle and Mr. and Mrs. G. R. Klingman were shoppers in Sunbury Tuesday afternoon. Mr. Neil Miller of Cowan was a Mifflinburg caller, Monday. Mr. and Mrs. Roy Rudy and son of Millmont spent the weekend with Mrs. Emma Rudy in this place. Mrs. Reno Walter, of Sunbury is visiting with her mother, Mrs. John Wittenmyer this week. Mrs. R. S. Gutelius is visiting with Mrs. C. G. Hayes in Montoursville, this week. Mrs. Kate Kreisher of Lewisburg, was the guest of Mr. and Mrs. H. A. Gast several days last week.
Mr. and Mrs. Spessard Strunk and sons, and Mrs. C. M. Steese attended the funeral of their grandfather Mr. George Miller in Newville, last week. Mrs. Foster Oberlin of Forest Hill was a caller in town Monday afternoon. Mrs. Charles Boyer of Shamokin visited with relatives in this place Monday. Mr. Samuel Schrack returned to his home in this place recently from a trip to California. Mr. Roy Grove was a caller at Brook Park on Saturday. Mrs. Mary Stuck and daughter, Mrs. Arney attended the funeral of Mrs. Walter in Middleburg on Friday afternoon. Mrs. Wilbert Chambers and daughter returned from the Geisinger Memorial Hospital, Danville on Saturday. Miss Anna Sechler accompanied Mr. George Raeback of Lewisburg to Williamsport, Tuesday, and visited Mrs. Raeback who is a patient in a Williamsport hospital. Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Dietrich and daughter, Verna May of Watsontown, and Mrs. Palmer McLean and daughter, Jane Irene of Philadelphia spent the weekend with their parents, Mr. and Mrs. John Swartz, in this place. Mrs. Charles Kerstetter left today, (Thursday) for Laport, Iowa to purchase a car load of horses. Prof. Clay Sanders of Shamokin, spent the weekend with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. J. L. Sanders of this place.
Mr. and Mrs. M.E. Wittenmyer transacted business in eastern cities several days this week. Mr. L. P. Ilgen transacted business in New Bloomfield and Lancaster the fore part of this week. Mrs. Clyde Sechler, daughter Anna, and Mr. Fay Badger, were callers in Sunbury Saturday afternoon. Mrs. Oscar Brouse and son returned to their home near Mifflinburg from the Geisinger Hospital on Monday. Mr. and Mrs. Myron Sterling spent several days this week in New York City. Mrs. C. M. Steese pleasantly entertained the following guests at her home on Saturday evening: Mrs. Harry Strunk, Mrs. Spessard Strunk, Mrs. Edwin Parvin, Mrs. George Grove, Mrs. J. Collins Gutelius, Miss Sara Orwig and Miss Kathryn Hassinger.
Mr. and Mrs. Darlington and daughter Madeline of New Bloomfield were Sunday guests at the home of Mr. and Mrs. H. C. Brungard. Mrs. Lester Ruhl and son returned to their home in this place after visiting her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Billmeyer in Milton. Miss June Swartz, a student nurse at the University of Pennsylvania Hospital, in Philadelphia, spent the weekend with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. John F. Swartz. Mrs. Blanche E. Gast was a caller in Lewisburg, Wednesday. Mrs. Ernest Ruhl of Millmont, spent Wednesday with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Galen Whitmer in this place.
Miss Frances Keister of Laurelton was a shopper in Mifflinburg on Saturday. Mrs. Robbins, of Danville, is visiting with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Clell King in this place. We regret to state that Mrs. Sue Walter is ill at her home on Green Street. Mrs. J. F. Swartz is nursing her back to health again. Miss Cora Libby and Mrs. Jonas Barrett of Weikert, were shoppers in town on Saturday.
Mrs. Elizabeth Bergstresser has returned from a visit with Mr. and Mrs. Balillie Springston, Washington, D.C. Mr. Warren Reed, Register and Recorder, Lewisburg, was in Mifflinburg Monday on official business. Mrs. Thomas C. Hare of Altoona, is a guest at the home of Mr. and Mrs. David L. Glover in this place. Mrs. Kate E. Sanders of Centre Hall is visiting at the home of Mrs. Ida Snyder of West Chestnut Street. Mr. Horace W. Orwig attended the annual stockholder’s meeting of the Lewisburg Trust Company, Tuesday. A number of people from Mifflinburg attended the DeMarco Harp Ensemble the last number of the Artists Course in Lewisburg, Tuesday evening.
Mrs. Cox and daughter, Bertha entertained a few of their friends to dinner on Tuesday. Mr. and Mrs. Howard Sechman of New Berlin are visiting their daughter Mrs. C. S. Zellers and family. We are sorry to state that illness has confined Mrs. Kate Wilkinson to her home on Walnut Street. Mrs. S. E. Benner of New Berlin spent Monday and Tuesday with her daughter, Mrs. C. A. Kniss and family. Mrs. Sadie Brown Shaffer, of Philadelphia, who has been visiting her sister, Mrs. W. H. Clipman at the Presbyterian parsonage for several days, returned to her home Wednesday.
Mrs. Hobart Spaid was substitute teacher last week for her sister, Miss Mildred Beaver who was confined to her home with an attack of La Grippe. Rev. N. J. Dubs accompanied Rev. I. C. Furhman of Millmont, and Rev. J. G. Brown of Mazeppa to a ministerial meeting held in Milton on Tuesday.
Mr. and Mrs. Charles F. Dunkle, Mr. S. B. Dunkle, and Miss Mary A. Dunkle, of Lewisburg, called to see their aunt, Mrs. Clipman, who is sick, Sunday afternoon. Mrs. Eda LaBrie of South Williamsport, and Mrs. E. B. Smith of Nanticoke, were weekend guests at the home of Mr. and Mrs. C. W. Hassenplug in this place.
Mrs. Lloyd Stover and daughter, Betty of Millheim, spent the weekend at the home of her brother, E. Kerstetter and family in this place. Mrs. N. E. Strunk and Mrs. Alice Parvin were social callers in Sunbury, Friday of this week. We are glad to report that Mrs. W. H. Clipman who has been sick for some time is slowly recovering under the care of Dr. Dimm and Mrs. W. A. Heiss. Mrs. Edwin Parvin was a caller in Milton Wednesday afternoon. Mrs. J. K. Foster, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Foster and Mrs. Joseph Foster were shoppers in Harrisburg Friday of this week.
