    From the Knoxville, Tenn. “Journal” of Jan. 1, 1926— FRANK L. FISHER, 72, President of the East Tennessee National Bank since 1894 and who has been actively and prominently identified with the financial and business interest of Knoxville for a period of 40 years died at the Dr. Reese Patterson hospital yesterday afternoon at 2:50 o’clock following an illness of only a few days.
    Stricken with a hemorrhage Saturday, Mr. Fisher was moved to the private hospital. His condition was reported to be serious and he remained in a critical condition until death.
    Mr. Fisher was born in Union County, Pa. near Mifflinburg, Feb. 25, 1853. When he was 15 years old, he moved with his father’s family to Hamblen County, Tenn. and resided on a farm near Russelville.
    He came to Knoxville a few years later and secured his first employment as bookkeeper for Carpenter and Ross, wholesale grovers. In 1879 he accepted a position as bookkeeper in the East Tennessee National Bank and was elected cashier of the bank September 6, 1883. On May 9, 1894, Mr. Fisher was elected president of the bank in which he started as bookkeeper, which position he held until his death.
    Mr. Fisher gave practically all his time to the development of the East Tennessee National Bank. Although his ability was realized and he was urged to accept public positions, he declined. He was known by his business associates as a man of unusual executive ability; his courteous manner won him to the general public.
    At the time of his death, Mr. Fisher was a member of the board of directors of the Fidelity Trust Company, Knoxville Power and Light Company, Standard Knitting Mills, Cherokee Knitting Mills, Harvey Coal Company, Knoxville Knitting Mills and other corporations.
    He was a member of the Second Presbyterian Church, and was active in religious and humanitarian work. Mr. Fisher married Feb. 6, 1883, Miss Ella Locke, daughter of the late Mr. & Mrs. C.E. Locke. C.M. Harvey, a brother-in-law of Mr. Fisher, and daughter, Miss Edith Harvey, make their home with Mr. & Mrs. Fisher at 516 West Vine Avenue.
    The deceased is survived by his wife, and two daughters, Mrs. E.C. Hauck, of Mifflinburg, Pa., and Mrs. Uttsman who lives with her daughter, Mrs. C.A. Beard at Athens, Tenn., and a brother- J.N. Fisher, who is president of the City National Bank at Morristown, Tenn.
    Burial was in the cemetery at Knoxville, Tenn.
