A DCNR Forestry representative presented 2007 FOURTH YEAR Tree City USA certificates to Shade Tree Commissioner Juergen Seefeldt.
The Tree City USA program is sponsored by the Arbor Day Foundation in cooperation with the National Association of State Foresters and the USDA Forest Service.
“Tree City USA designation recognizes the work of elected officials, staff and citizens who plant and care for the community forest. Trees are a vital component of the infrastructure in our cities and towns, and provide environmental and economical benefits. A community and its citizens, that recognizes this and provides needed care for its trees deserves recognition and thanks,” says John Rosenow, Chief Executive of the Arbor Day Foundation.
Mr. Seefeldt took time to thank Mr. Kessler and his class for their efforts to make the Community Park more beautiful by maintaining the Gazebo area and planting ten bare root trees in the park and in the community.
