Helen S. Evans, 95, of 422 Market St., Mifflinburg passed away Monday evening, April 7, 2008, at Evangelical Community Hospital, Lewisburg.
Arrangements by Schwartz-Adamo Funeral and Cremation Services, 247 Chestnut St., Mifflinburg.
Florence M. Greenawalt
Florence M. Greenawalt, 77, of 311 JPM Road, Lewisburg went to be with her Lord on Saturday evening, April 5, 2008, at her home.
A native of Port Reading, N.J., she was born Jan. 21, 1931, a daughter of the late Peter and Irene (Cambra) Miczikus. She was preceded in death in 1964 by her husband of 17 years, Milton Greenawalt.
She had been employed by the Old Turnpike Restaurant, Lewisburg.
Florence was Catholic and enjoyed sewing, cooking and shopping.
She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Kathryn and Gregory Criswell of Roanoke, Va., son, M. Fred Greenawalt of Lewisburg, son and daughter-in-law, Daniel and DeAnn Greenawalt of Frostburg, Md., and daughter, Colette Greenawalt of Sunbury; seven grandchildren and their spouses, Gary K. and Janelle Gemberling of Frostburg, Md., Kevin and Jill Gemberling of Mifflinburg, David and Angela Gemberling of Sunbury, Samuel Greenawalt and Laura Greenawalt of Frostburg, Md., Adam Greenawalt of Sunbury, and Amanda Greenawalt of Hazleton; four great-grandchildren, Kayla Girton and Tyler Gemberling of Mifflinburg and Alexys Gemberling and Dawson Gemberling of Sunbury; one brother, John Mitch of Erie; and three sisters, Betty Wentling of Knox, Mary Romanski of Conneaut, Ohio, and Patricia Rodgers of Beaumont, Texas.
She was preceded in death by one son, David Greenawalt, in 1961.
Funeral services were held Wed., April 9, at the John H. Shaw III Funeral Home, Market and Eighth streets, Lewisburg. Her son-in-law, Pastor Gregory Criswell, officiated.
Burial was in Lewisburg Cemetery.

Dorothy I. Haas
Dorothy I. Haas, 101, a guest at Nottingham Village, Northumberland, for the past four years, formerly of Danville, died Thursday, April 3, 2008, at the nursing home.
She was born June 18, 1906, in Mifflinburg, a daughter of the late Lewis and Lizzy (Minerva) Dorman.
Dorothy was employed at the Danville Manufacturing Co. for a number of years.
Surviving are a sister, Vada Erdley of Mifflinburg; brothers, Dorsey Dorman of Middleburg and Paul Mitch; and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Preceding her in death in 1971 was her husband, Joseph. Also preceding her were a stepson, Charles Haas; stepdaughter, Rose Wemple; sisters, Mary Daughenbaugh and Salley Dengler; and brothers, Gundy, Charles Romaine and Luther Dorman.
Graveside services were held Mon., April 7, in Elan Memorial Park, Bloomsburg. The Rev. Edmund Minnich, retired, officiated. The family has asked those wishing to do so to make a contribution in Dorothy’s memory to the Lycoming County SPCA, 2805 Reach Road, Williamsport, PA 17701, or the Priestley-Forsyth Memorial Library, King Street, Northumberland, PA 17857.

Ralph F. Dietrich
Ralph F. Dietrich, 89, of 1365 Dietrich Road, Mifflinburg died Monday, March 31, 2008, at Hershey Medical Center.
He was born May 19, 1918, in Buffalo Township, Union County, a son of the late George Y. and Susan M. (Heckert) Dietrich. His wife of 49 years, the former Betty Deitrick, died June 5, 1991.
A 1936 graduate of Lewisburg High School, he owned and operated his farm in West Buffalo Township for many years.
Ralph was a founding member of the Pennsylvania Artificial Breeders Association of Lewisburg and a former director of the Pennsylvania Farmers Association. He formerly served as a Mifflinburg school board member and also was a director for Stone Haven Camp.
He attended Calvary Baptist Church, Mifflinburg.
Surviving are one son, Ralph F. Dietrich Jr. of Mifflinburg; one brother and sister-in-law, Harry and Edith Dietrich of Mifflinburg; one sister, Emeline Reamer of Mifflinburg; one grandson, John Rishel and wife, Duska, of Watsontown; one granddaughter, Dawn Wolfe and husband, Ray, of Milton; two great-grandchildren, Eric and Taylor Wolfe; and a former son-in-law, Wayne Rishel, and wife, Judy.
In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Martha Jane Rishel, who died June 8, 1987; a brother, James Dietrich, who died Oct. 28, 1995; and a sister, Fanny Dietrich, who died as a child.
Funeral services were held Sat., April 4, at Calvary Baptist Church. It was officiated by Pastor Glen Miller of Calvary Bible Church, Greencastle.
Burial followed in Uniontown Cemetery, Allenwood.
The family was assisted by the Cronrath-Grenoble Funeral Home, South Second and St. Louis streets, Lewisburg.
