Anna Mary Lepley
Anna Mary Lepley, 90, a resident of New Berlin from 1955 to 2001, and of Limestone Township prior to 1955, entered into rest at 12:45 a.m. Friday, April 19, 2008, at RiverWoods, Lewisburg, where she had resided since 2001.
She was born Oct. 16, 1917, in Middleburg, a daughter of the late Francis S. and Lydia Knouse. In January 1935, she married Roy Franklin Lepley who preceded her in death on March 16, 1993.
Earlier in life, she worked on the family farm in Limestone Township. She was also employed at the Kratzerville Shirt Factory, Bucknell University as a custodian for many years, and also owned and operated the Lepley’s General Store, New Berlin, for nine years.
Anna was a faithful member of the Messiah Lutheran Church, New Berlin.
Anna was a member of the Shikellamy Region Antique Automobile Club of America, the Ramblers Club, Lewisburg, and the New Berlin Fire Company.
Surviving are one son and daughter-in-law, Charles W. and Eleanor Lepley of Pataskala, Ohio; one daughter and son-in-law, Mary Ellen and Jay Egli of New Berlin; eight grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and seven great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two sisters, Elizabeth Steele and Dorothy Oldt.
Funeral services were held Wed., April 23, at the Messiah Lutheran Church, 308 Market St., New Berlin. It was conducted by Rev. Andrew S. Fitch, officiating.
Burial was in the Beaver Springs Cemetery, Spring Township.

Robert F. Lloyd Jr.
Robert F. Lloyd Jr., 54, of 2302 Troxelville Road, Middleburg, entered into eternal rest at 5:34 a.m. Friday, April 18, 2008, at his residence.
He was born Nov. 5, 1953, in Lewisburg, a son of Lucille “Lucy” E. (Guisewite) Lloyd, of Selinsgrove, and the late Robert F. Lloyd Sr. On June 17, 2000, in Middleburg, he married the former Pauline E. Try, who survives.
Mr. Lloyd was a self-employed stone mason.
He enjoyed hunting, fishing and being outdoors.
Surviving, in addition to his wife, are two sons, Christopher Lloyd Sr., of Mercer, and Robert F. Lloyd III, of Pennsylvania; two stepsons, Jeffrey A. Try Sr., of Middleburg, and Lester Long Jr. and his wife Nicole, of Mount Union; two stepdaughters, Shirley E. Boyer and her companion Albert Holtz, of New Ell, and Jody M. Boyer and her husband Randy Jr., of Middleburg; his stepmother, Jean F. Lloyd, of Lewisburg; two brothers, Michael Lloyd, of Milton, and Stephen Lloyd, of Middleburg; 10 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Dianne Schaeffer.
Family and friends will be received from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, April 24, at Schwartz-Adamo Funeral and Cremation Services, 247 Chestnut St., Mifflinburg, followed by a memorial service at 8 p.m., with the Rev. Edward Degand officiating.
Burial will be private at the discretion of the family.
Henry I. Herman
Henry I. Herman, 87, of 66 Market St., Mifflinburg passed away at 3:25 p.m. Tuesday, April 15, 2008, at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville.
He was born Feb. 3, 1921, in Penns Creek, a son of the late Luther A. and Bertha M. (Bowersox) Herman. On June 24, 1946, he married the former Miriam P. Smith, who survives.
He was veteran of World War II, serving in the Army, and was discharged with the rank of sergeant.
Henry had owned and operated the Texaco Gas Station in Mifflinburg for 15 years, after which he began employment with Pennsylvania House in Lewisburg, retiring in 1986. Following his retirement, he served as a bus driver for the Mifflinburg Area School District and also transported students to the Penn View Christian Academy.
He was a member of Dreisbach United Church of Christ, Lewisburg.
Henry was an avid golfer and was a member of the Middleburg Area Recreation Association Golf Club. He enjoyed gardening and caring for his lawn, as well as woodworking and carving. He was a very giving man who enjoyed helping other people.
In addition to his wife of 61 years, he is survived by one son, Richard E. Herman of Edgewater, N.J.; two brothers, Luther Herman Jr. of Newark, Del., and Richard Herman of McClure; and two sisters, Ruth Miller of Muncy and Fay Steininger of Akron, Ohio.
He was preceded in death by one brother, David Herman, and two sisters, Dorothy Bowersox and Anna Sumner.
Funeral services were held Sat., April 19, at Dreisbach United Church of Christ. His pastor, the Rev. Michael C. Romig, officiated.
Burial with military honors was in Hill Top Cemetery, Mifflinburg.
