Gloria J. Tice
    Gloria J. Tice, 43, of 148 Pitzer Road,  Middleburg passed away on Sunday morning, Nov. 27, 2011, at the M.S. Hershey Medical Center.
    She was born Oct. 7, 1968, in Lewisburg, a daughter Park E. and Mary G. (Walter) Fultz, of McClure. On Sept. 9, 1989, she married  Thomas S. Tice who survives.
    Gloria was a 1986 graduate of West Snyder High School.
    She had been employed by the Middleburg Pharmacy and prior to that had worked at Hi-Li Corp., Penns Creek.
    She was a member of Bible Baptist Church, Kreamer.
    Gloria enjoyed cooking and collecting Boyd Bears, and enjoyed church league bowling.
    In addition to her husband and parents, she is survived by one sister, and brother-in-law, Michele L. and John Owens, of Beauford, S.C.; two brothers, Gary D. Fultz, of Port Trevorton. and Mark E. Fultz and his companion, Lori, of McClure; two nephews, Tyler and Taylor; and Lori’s son, Jace.
    She was preceded in death by one daughter, Ashley in 1994, and one brother, Paul L. Fultz in 2003.
    There will be a time of visitation from 6 to 8 p.m. Thurs., Dec. 1, at the Hummel Funeral Home, 574 Hill St., Middleburg.
    Burial will be at 10 a.m. Friday in the Black Oak Ridge Cemetery, McClure.
    A service to celebrate Gloria’s homegoing will follow at 11:30 a.m. at Bible Baptist Church, Kreamer with Pastor Thomas Krampert and Pastor David Dressler, officiating.
    A fellowship dinner will follow the service.

Joyce A. Herb
    Joyce A. Herb, 83, of 674 Thomas Dam Road, Millmont since 1970, formerly of Shamokin, entered into rest at 11:15 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 27, 2011, at her home.
    She was born Sept. 12, 1928, in Shamokin, a daughter of the late Alfred and Mary (Ruch) Rebuck. On Dec. 22, 1947, in Maryland, she married Robert A. Herb who preceded her in death on Oct. 20, 2005.
    Joyce was a 1946 graduate of Shamokin High School.
    She enjoyed crocheting, quilting, making crafts, and cooking for her family.
    She is survived by three daughters and two sons-in-law, Merry Carol and James Scandle, of Shamokin, Joyce Ann Bingaman, of Millmont, and Susan and Kim Blyler, of Millmont; one sister, Caroline Reed, of Orlando, Fla.; 10 grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren.
    Funeral services will be conducted privately at the convenience of the family.
    Memorial contributions in Joyce’s memory may be made to the Pennsylvania Breast Cancer Coalition, 344 N. Reading Rd., Ephrata, PA 17522, or Evangelical Home Hospice, 1 Hospital Drive, Lewisburg, PA 17837.
    Funeral arrangements are by Roupp Funeral Home, Inc., 8594 Old Turnpike Road, Mifflinburg.

Ruth Edna Boney Fenstermacher
    Ruth Edna Boney Fenstermacher, 85, formerly of 141 Paul L. Drive, Lewisburg from 1986 to 2008, entered into rest at 3:05 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 26, 2011, at RiverWoods, Lewisburg, where she had been a resident since April 2009.
    She was born Feb. 25, 1926, in Buffalo Township, a daughter of the late William Edward and Edna S. (Hanselman) Aikey. On June 23, 1948, she married Bruce Boney who preceded her in death on Oct. 25, 1985. She then married Louis H. Fenstermacher on Dec. 13, 1994and he preceded her in death on May 24, 2008.
    Ruth was a 1942 graduate of Mifflinburg High School.
    She was employed at Huntington Throwing Mills, Mifflinburg, for many years.
    She was a member of the Millmont United Methodist Church, where she was a Sunday school teacher, and a Cub Scout den mother for many years.  
    Ruth was a seamstress and enjoyed sewing at her home.
    She is survived by three sons and daughters-in-law, Bruce Jr. and Seon Boney, of Sterling, Va., Mark and Patty Boney, of Lewisburg, and Michael and Beverly Boney, of New Columbia; three sisters and two brothers-in-law, Sharon and Clair Brown, of Lewisburg, Hilda and George Eister, of Lewisburg, and Beverly Folk, of Mifflinburg; six grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
    She was preceded in death by one brother, Lee Aikey; and one sister, Dorothy Smith.
    Funeral services were held Tues., Nov. 29, at the Roupp Funeral Home, Inc., 8594 Old Turnpike Road, Mifflinburg. Pastor Fred Yarger officiated.
    Burial was in the Hartleton Cemetery.

Marlin N. Danowsky
    Marlin N. Dan-owsky, 70 of Ridge Road, Milton passed away on Thursday, Nov. 24, 2011 at home surrounded by his loving family after a courageous battle with cancer.
    He was born on Sept. 14, 1941 in West Chillisquaque Township, a son of the late Edward and Ruth (Edinger) Danowsky. He was married on Feb. 19, 1960 to the former Linda Benfer, who survives.
    Marlin was a 1959 graduate of Montandon High School.
    He was employed at Danville Cabinet Works, George Laird Roofing, Lewisburg and International Paper, Lewisburg, retiring after 32 years.
    Marlin was a member of United in Christ Lutheran Church, West Milton, and Two Mile Run Gun Club, Renovo. He enjoyed John Deere tractors, farm sales and rabbit hunting.
    In addition to his wife, he is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Cindy and Rob Mertz, of Mifflinburg; a son, Mark Danowsky, of Milton; two grandsons, Wade and Chad Rathfon, of Mifflinburg; two great-grandsons, Randy and Cody Rathfon; five sisters and a brother-in-law, Orphia Walter, of Lewisburg, Marjorie Foresman, of Mifflinburg, Irene Bowersox, of Milton, Shirley and Bill Good, of Montandon, and June Johnson, of Winfield; a sister-in-law, Eleanor Phillips; three step grandsons, Josh, Jerrod, and Jake Mertz; and one step great-granddaughter, Maddison. Also surviving are his special friends Tami, Cameron, Hope, and Mason and his best pal, Toby, his beagle.
    Marlin was preceded in death by two brothers, Kenny and Myron Danowsky.
    Funeral services will be held Thurs., Dec. 1, at the Shaw Funeral Home, 400 N. Front St., Milton. Pastor Keith Pletcher will officiate.
    Burial will be in Montandon Cemetery.
    The family will provide flowers and ask in lieu of flowers that  donations be made to either United in Christ Lutheran Church, P.O. Box 95, West Milton, PA 17886, or to Evangelical Hospice, One Hospital Dr., Lewisburg, PA 17837.
    The family thanks transportation providers to the Cancer Center in Philadelphia, Harry and Eddie Snyder, Karl and Shirley Eberhart, Al and Janet Smith, and Paul and Doris LaForme.

Paul Forest Dauberman
    Paul Forest Dauberman, 67, of 1477 Glover Hill Road, Mifflinburg passed away Thursday morning, Nov. 24, 2011 at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville.
    He was born Feb. 8, 1944 in Lewisburg, a son of the late Gerald Leroy and Martha Mae (Johnson) Dauberman. He was married to the former Ruth M. Hanselman, and his death breaks a marital union of 45 years.
    Paul attended Lewisburg High School and served in the Army and the Pennsylvania Army National Guard.
    He was employed by V & H Motors Ford, of Lewisburg for 45 years as a mechanic and in the body shop.
    Paul enjoyed hunting, fishing, the farm work and animals on his farm, attending the Middleburg auction and spending time with his grandchildren.
    In addition to his wife, he is survived by two sons, Paul I. Dauberman and wife Tammy, of Northumberland and Scott A. Dauberman, of Mifflinburg; a granddaughter, Alexxa Dauberman, and a grandson, Scott Allen Dauberman Jr.; also five siblings, Donald L. Dauberman, of Milton, Charles D. Dauberman, of RiverWoods, Lawrence W. Dauberman, of Lewisburg, Rodney E. Dauberman, of Montandon, and Sharon Morrisette, of Jamison.
    He was preceded in death by two sisters, Claire Bowman and Joyce Beaver.
    A memorial service was held  Tues., Nov. 29, at the John H. Shaw III Funeral Home, Eighth and Market streets, Lewisburg. The Rev. John H. Shaw III officiated.
    Burial was at the convenience of the family.
    The family  asks that donations in Paul’s memory be made to the Pennsylvania SPCA, 2801 Bloom Road, Danville, PA 17821.

Michael Stephen Kroner
    Specialist Michael Stephen Kroner, 27, of Mifflinburg, died Thursday, Nov. 10, 2011, in Bamberg, Germany.
    He was born May 4, 1984, a son of Eric Kroner, of Spring Mills, and Darlene Okkerse-Swope, of Watsontown. He was married to the former Amber Rauch, who survives.
    Michael graduated from Mifflinburg Area High School, Class of 2003, and worked in construction until Jan. 28, 2009 when he joined the Army.
    He attended basic combat training at  Fort Jackson, S.C., and subsequently completed Advanced Individual Training at Fort Leonard Wood, Mo. He was then transferred to Bamberg Army Base in Germany in the 535th Engineering Company, 54th Engineer Battalion. He was deployed to Afghanistan and served in a Route Clearance Platoon stationed in Ghanzi Province where he served with distinction and honor. Specialist Kroner’s awards and decorations include the Army Good Conduct Medal, the National Defense Service Medal, the Afghanistan Campaign Medal, the Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, the Army Service Ribbon, the Overseas Ribbon, and the NATO Medal. He also received the Combat Action Badge for his part in combat operations during his tour in Operation Enduring Freedom XI
    Specialist Kroner was loved and respected by all that knew him. He was a very caring and selfless person to those that served with him. Michael was always thinking of others and often put his own issues aside to help fellow soldiers. His dedication to the mission and his fellow comrades showed true through overwhelming odds and diversity both in the garrison and in combat. Michael took his job very seriously and would not let failure be an option. He was harder on himself than others were. Michael’s humor brought laughs when you would think laughing not possible. His caring spirit lifted up his friends when they were in need, and his friendship turned into family ties with many of those he served along side.
    In addition to his wife and parents, he is survived by one sister, Jennifer Kroner, of Mifflinburg; one brother, Jonathon Kroner, of Watsontown; grandparents, John and Marylou Okkerse, of Lewisburg; and his dog, Ellie.
    He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Lawrence and Virginia Kroner.
    Funeral services with full military honors took place Mon., Nov. 28, at Christian Missionary Alliance Church, 80 Church Road, Mifflinburg. Pastor Chester Musser officiated.

Earl M. Bartlett
    Earl M. Bartlett, 83, of 2440 Polly Pine Road, Millmont passed away at 7:25 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 24, 2011, at Rolling Hills Manor.
    He was born July 22, 1928 in, Hamlin, N.Y., a son of the late Irdale and Ruth (Mcquay) Bartlett. On July 9, 1955, he married the former Ida M. Stahl who passed away on July 12, 2009.  
    On Dec. 6, 1948, in Williamsport, he entered the Army, serving until his honorable discharge on Aug. 19, 1952.
    Earl was employed for over 30 years with the Pennsylvania Department of Forestry, Union County office.
    He was member of Mifflinburg American Legion Post 410.
    Earl enjoyed woodworking, tinkering on small engines, watching NASCAR, fixing lawn equipment, and reading western books.
    He is survived by one grandson, Roger Stahl Jr., and wife, Stephanie, of New Berlin; three great-grandchildren, Kyler Zechman, April Zechman, and Reese Stahl; one daughter-in-law, Debra Stahl, of Mifflinburg; one stepgranddaughter, Christine Morseman and husband, Matthew; three stepgreat-grandchildren, Brittany, Samantha and Matthew Morseman Jr.; four sisters, Beuleh Yoder, of Muncy, Emilene Vonada, of  Millmont, Pat Bunch, of Danville, Kate Reich, of Beaver Springs; and two brothers, George Bartlett, of Millmont, and Richard Bartlett, of Danville.
    Preceding him in death were one son and daughter -in-law, Roger L. Stahl Sr., and Dawn; one granddaughter, Robin Stahl Zechman; one sister, Emily Bartlett; two brothers, Frank Bartlett, Henry Bartlett, and two brothers in infancy.
    A graveside services was held Sat., Nov. 27, in Hartleton Cemetery. The Rev. Paul J. Sickler, pastor of Glen Iron Pilgrim Holiness Church, officiated.
    Interment with full military rites was conducted by the Mifflinburg American Legion Honor Guard.
    Memorial contributions in Earl`s memory may be sent to Glen Iron Pilgrim Holiness Church, 4065 Creek Road, Millmont, PA 17845.
    Arrangements were entrusted to Schwartz-Adamo Funeral and Cremation Services, 247 Chestnut St., Mifflinburg.
