Doreen Belle Pease
Doreen Belle Pease, 78, of 311 Walnut Street, Penns Creek entered into rest at 10 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 20, 2010, at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville.
She was born Jan. 14, 1932, in Lansing, Mich., a daughter of the late Hattie Parker. She was the wife of the late Lucius Dewitt Pease.
Doreen was a homemaker and did home cleaning.
She enjoyed reading, puzzles, sewing, gardening, fishing, and spending time with family
She is survived by one son, Lou Pease, of Syracuse, N.Y.; one daughter, Katy Reichelderfer, of Middleburg; three grandchildren, Robin Bennett, Nickolas Pease, and Ayden Pease; and one great-grandson, Gabriel Gibson.
Family and friends are invited to attend a gathering to celebrate her life at 3 p.m. Thurs., Feb. 25, at Doreen’s home, 311 B Walnut St., Penns Creek.
The family is being served by the Schwartz-Adamo Funeral and Cremation Service, 247 Chestnut St., Mifflinburg.
Ricky Allen Aikey
Ricky Allen Aikey, 52, of 183 Meadow Green Drive, Mifflinburg entered into rest at 9:40 a.m. Sunday, Feb. 21, 2010, at Evangelical Community Hospital, Lewisburg.
He was born May 10, 1957, in Lewisburg, a son of Guy M. and Shirley M. Aikey, of Mifflinburg.
Ricky was a 1975 graduate of Mifflinburg High School.
He was an independent oversize load escort driver. Earlier in life, he was employed at Showers Manor and Carriage House, Milton, C.A. Shipton, Mifflinburg, and Glen-Gery, Watsontown.
He was a member of the St. John’s United Church of Christ, Mifflinburg, and a former member of the Mifflinburg Hose Company and Fire Police.
Ricky enjoyed mechanical and carpentry work, riding his Harley-Davidson motorcycle, fishing, visiting his friends at Rishel’s Meats in Mifflinburg, and spending time with his buddy, Kenny. He was eagerly anticipating the birth of his third grandchild.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by his lifetime companion, Kathy K. Aikey, of Mifflinburg; two sons and daughters-in-law, Christopher A. and Melody Aikey, of Selinsgrove, and Jeremy L. and Bonnie Aikey of Houston, Texas; one daughter, Amber M. Aikey, of Lewisburg; one sister and brother-in-law, Cindy E. and John C. Shipton, of Mifflinburg; two grandchildren, Isaiah T. Aikey and Isabella E. Aikey; one niece, Renee L. and her husband George E. Pick, of Watsontown; one nephew, Paul W. and his wife Melissa S. Shipton, of Lewisburg; and great-nieces and great-nephews, Blake Shipton, Noah, Emma, and Brenna Pick.
Visitors were welcome Wednesday, at the Roupp Funeral Home, Inc., 8594 Old Turnpike Road, Mifflinburg.
The funeral service will be conducted at the convenience of the family.
Anna E. (Hack) Faux
Anna E. (Hack) Faux, 81, of 4 Market St., Mifflinburg and formerly of Danville, passed away on Saturday, Feb. 20, 2010, at Evangelical Community Hospital, Lewisburg, surrounded by her family.
She was born Oct. 2, 1928, in Danville, a daughter of the late Warren D.and Sarah L.(Kreigh) Hack. On April 25, 1953, she married Richard M. Faux who preceded her in death 37 years later on April 25, 1990.
Anna was a 1947 graduate of Danville High School.
She was employed at the Danville State Hospital and Geisinger Medical Center. She later retired from Sheraton Inn, Danville.
Anna was a member of Christ’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, Lewisburg.
Anna enjoyed crocheting and crafts and was a collector of cook books and John Wayne movies. She was extremely fond of spending time with her family.
Surviving are one son, Richard W. and Patti Faux, of Lewisburg; three daughters, Vickie Ackley (Mike Benfer), with whom she resided in Mifflinburg, Janice Faux, of Danville, and Cindy Faux (Perry Schenck), of Danville; one brother, John “Jack” (JoAnn) Hack, of Danville; one sister, Ruth (Edgar) Petrikis, of Millsboro, Del.; eight grandchildren, Valerie (Bob) Reigle, of Mifflinburg, Sherry Ackley (Benny Hahn), of Lewisburg, Craig Ackley, of Mifflinburg, Renee West, of Mechanicsburg, Tabitha (Bryan) Deibert and Perry Lee Schenck, all of Danville, and Laura and Amy Faux, both of Lewisburg; seven great-grandchildren, Sage and Hunter Wertz, of Mifflinburg, Tommy, Taylor and Sydney Emery, of Ohio, Logan Wilson, of Washingtonville and Keondre Hudson, of Mechanicsburg. Her extended survivors include a step-granddaughter, Kathy Benfer (Jason) Kling, of Watsontown; and four step-great-grandchildren, Lauryn Kling, of Watsontown, Angel Reigle, of Newport, Chelsea Shick, of Selinsgrove and Corey Kratzer, of New Berlin.
In addition to her husband and parents she was also predeceased by a sister, Mary Neidig.
A private committal service will be held at the convenience of the family officiated by her pastor, the Rev. William S. Henderson. Entombment will be in the Northumberland Memorial Park Mausoleum, Stonington.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions in Anna’s memory be made to Christ’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, 100 S. Third St., Lewisburg, PA 17837.
The family is being assisted by Cronrath-Grenoble Funeral Home, South Second and St. Louis Streets, Lewisburg.
Bertha A. Herman
Bertha A. Herman, 86, formerly of Middleburg and Selinsgrove, and since November a resident of Rolling Hills Manor, Millmont, passed away at 6:50 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 20, 2010, at Evangelical Community Hospital, Lewisburg.
She was born Aug. 11, 1923, on the Isle of Que, Selinsgrove, a daughter of the late Daniel W. and Sarah Rachel (Diemer) Steffen. On Nov. 15, 1946, she married Russell H. Herman who preceded her in death Sept. 26, 1999.
She attended Herman school.
She had been employed at J.G. Ott Mfg., Selinsgrove, and retired from Furman’s Food, Northumberland.
She was a member of Salem Lutheran Church, Selinsgrove, a member of the Loyal Order of Moose 1229, Middleburg, and American Legion Post 957, New Berlin.
Bertha enjoyed crocheting, word searches, playing cards, sitting outside with her puppy, DoLee, and spending time with her family.
She is survived by two sons and daughter-in-law, Roy and Betty Herman and Russell Herman and fiancee, Glenda Furr, all of Middleburg; five daughters and two sons-in-law, Sarah Herman, of Middleburg, Linda and Stanford Aumiller, of Bannerville, Debbie Straub, of Selinsgrove, Dorothy and Thomas Hopp, and Betty Herman, all of Marianna, Fla.; six grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by three sons, William, Robert, and Dale Herman; three brothers, Lester, John and Kenneth Steffen; two sisters, Helen Specht and Mary Gottshall; one daughter-in-law, Linda A. Herman; two great-granddaughters, Keisha M. Delong and RayLee L. Herman; and one grand-daughter-in-law, Angela Herman.
The funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. at the V.L. Seebold Funeral Home, 601 N. High St., Selinsgrove, with the Rev. Adrian J. Shearer officiating.
Burial will be in Orchard Hills Cemetery, Shamokin Dam.

Paul Zimmerman
Paul Zimmerman, 63, of N14585 Copenhaver Ave., Stanley, Wisc., passed away peacefully at his home on Saturday, Feb. 20, 2010, with his family by his side.
He was born April 27, 1946, in Earl Township, Lancaster County, Pennsylvania, a son of the late Ezra and Maria (Martin) Zimmerman.
He grew up and spent his youth in Lancaster County where he was engaged in farming.
On Nov. 2, 1967, he was united in marriage to Mary Ella Martin in Lancaster County, Pa. They resided in Union County, Pa., until 1998 when they moved to Stanley and have resided there since.
Paul is survived by his wife Mary Ella Zimmerman of Stanley; 11 children; Mabel (Harlan) Zimmerman of Boyd, Wis., Edna (Earl Ray) Martin, of Elma, Iowa, Mary Ella (Harvey) Zimmerman of Stanley, Floyd (Marie Horning) Zimmerman, of Ionia, Iowa, Sarah (George) Shirk, of Thorp, Wis., Susan (Wayne) Zimmerman, Esther (Larry) Ringler, Jane (Elvin) Zimmerman, Paul (Susan Marie Zimmerman) Zimmerman, Anna Ruth (Charles) Nolt, and Alma Faye Zimmerman, all of Stanley; 42 grandchildren; 11 siblings; Anna (Eli) Shirk, of Mifflinburg, Pa., David (Edna Sauder) Zimmerman, of Ephrata, Pa., Lydia (Phares) Burkholder, of Greenwood, Wis., Ezra (Lena Aberholtzer) Zimmerman, of Mifflinburg, Amos (Esther Weaver) Zimmerman, of East Earl, Pa., Mary (Allen) Hoover, of Mifflinburg, Ella (Amos) Leid, of Shippensburg, Pa., Ervin (Ella Mae Nolt) Zimmerman, of Ephrata, Menno (Alta Garman) Zimmerman, of Orchard, Iowa, Lavina (John) Brubaker of Withee, Wis., and Edna (Rueben) Nolt, of Floyd, Iowa
Paul was preceded in death by three infant sons; one daughter, Martha; one infant grandson, Wilson; mother-in-law, Laura Martin; sister, Lena Brubaker; sister-in-law, Lena Aberholtzer Zimmerman; and brother-in-law, Allen Hoover.
Services will be held at 9 a.m. Thurs., Feb. 25, at the Stanley Mennonite Church with Bishop Elvin Fox officiating. Friends and family may call from 2 to 4 p.m. and from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, at the residence.
Burial will be in the Stanley Mennonite Cemetery.
The Plombon Funeral Service of Stanley, Wis., is assisting the family with arrangements.
Jasmine Cheyenne Burgit
Jasmine Cheyenne Burgit, daughter of Helen Dick and Clyde Burgit, of Sunbury, was stillborn on Monday, Feb. 15, 2010, at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville.
In addition to her parents, she is survived by one brother, Clyde Francis Burgit, and one sister, Monique Nichole Burgit, both of Covington, Ga., and her grandmother, Antoinette Kitchens, of Mifflinburg.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the Brady Funeral Home Inc., 320 Church St., Danville.
Walter L. Krebs
Walter L. Krebs, 102, of 103 Clinton St., Danville a home he built, passed away on Thursday morning, Feb. 18, 2010, at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville.
He was born Feb. 8, 1908, in Swengel, a son of the late John and Emma Jane (Catherman) Krebs. He was married for 46 years to the former Freda E. Campbell, who passed away Feb. 1, 1998.
He graduated from Lewis Township High School in Union County in 1925 and graduated as a registered nurse from the School of Nursing at Danville State Hospital.
Walter was employed as a psychiatric nurse for 38 ½ years at Danville State Hospital, retiring in 1966. He also was a building contractor and remodeled homes in the Danville area for many years.
He attended St. Paul’s Emmanuel United Methodist Church, Danville, and was a 50-year member of Danville-Mahoning Lodge 224, Free & Accepted Masons, Danville.
Walter enjoyed hunting, woodworking and watching speedboat racing. He was particularly fond of cracking and picking out black walnuts.
He is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Richard A. and Connie Krebs and John A. and Susan Krebs, all of Milton; seven grandchildren, Robert, James and Todd Krebs, Kimberly Scheider, Angela Yarger, Dawn Marino and Barbara Woodring; 11 great-grandchildren; two stepgrandchildren, Robert B. Geiger and Sue Ann Stauffer; four stepgreat-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by one brother, Chester Krebs, and two sisters, Dora Krebs and Hallie Warburton.
Funeral services were held Tues., Feb. 23, with the Danville-Mahoning Lodge 224 conducting a Masonic service at 11, at the Visneski Funeral Home Inc., 10 W. Mahoning St., Danville, followed by the funeral at 1 p.m. with the Rev. Joseph Gentilman, a friend of the family and pastor of Enola United Methodist Church, officiating.
Burial followed in Odd Fellows Cemetery, Danville.
Michael J. Murphy
Michael J. Murphy, 63, of 125 Glen Iron Road, Millmont passed away on Wednesday, Feb. 17, 2010, at Evangelical Community Hospital, Lewisburg.
He was born March 26, 1946, in Sommerville, N.J., a son of the late James W. Murphy and Katherine S. Gustafston. On Nov. 27, 2003, he married the former Deborah M. Solomon, who survives.
He was a graduate of Morristown High School in New Jersey and was a veteran of the Army, serving from 1966 to 1968.
Michael was a self-employed electrician.
He was a member of the West End Sportman’s Club and the Mifflinburg American Legion.
Michael enjoyed casino trips, hanging out at Witmer’s Garage, working around the house and keeping busy.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by two sons and a daughter-in-law, Michael J. Jr. and Amy M. Murphy, of Sunbury, and Robert F. “Weaz” Murphy, of Northumberland; one daughter and son-in-law, Sherry D. and David Englehart, of Mifflinburg; six grandchildren, Michael Murphy III, Samantha Murphy, Junie Keister, Cole Keister, David Englehart Jr. and Alexis Murphy; two brothers, James Murphy, of Florida, and William Murphy, of New Jersey; one sister, Katherine Murphy, of Florida; and several nieces, nephews, stepchildren and stepgrandchildren.
The family received relatives and friends Sat., Feb. 20, at the David T. Zweier Funeral Home Inc., 157 Chestnut St., Sunbury. A luncheon followed in Special Occasions, South Second Street, Sunbury.
Robert W. “Bob” Myers
Robert W. “Bob” Myers, 85, of 3135 Johnson Mill Road, Lewisburg passed away on Tuesday, Feb. 16, 2010, at Evangelical Community Hospital, Lewisburg.
He was born Dec. 4, 1924, in Lewisburg, a son of the late Stoughton J. and Mae Helena (Wehr) Myers. Bob was married to the former Sara E. Shuck on March 31, 1945. They celebrated 54 years of marriage before her death on Aug. 26, 1999.
He was a 1942 graduate of Lewisburg High School and joined the Navy in December of that year. He was a salvage diver serving in Sicily, Africa and southern France, where he received the Bronze Star. Following his discharge from the Navy in 1945, Bob worked as an electrician for six years before going to work for the Buffalo Valley Telephone Co., retiring in June 1987.
A lifetime member of Christ Evangelical Lutheran Church, Lewisburg, Bob also was a member of New Berlin American Legion Post 957 and Mifflinburg Moose Lodge 1396.
An avid Penn State fan, Bob enjoyed RVing, attending Navy reunions all around the country, playing cards, woodworking, boating, solving crossword puzzles and piecing together jigsaw puzzles.
He is survived by several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents and wife, Bob was predeceased by one brother, James, in 1982.
Funeral services were held Fri., Feb. 19, at Christ Evangelical Lutheran Church, 100 S. Third St. The Rev. William S. Henderson officiated.
Burial with full military honors followed in Mazeppa Union Cemetery.

Pearl Mollie Hollenbach
Pearl Mollie Hollenbach, 69, of 80 Sterling Drive, passed away at her home early Tuesday morning, Feb. 16, 2010.
A native of Union County, she was born May 7, 1940, in Limestone Township, a daughter of the late Tennyson A. and Edna S. (Moyer) Bowersox. In 1973, she married Ray M. Hollenbach, who survives.
Pearl was a 1958 graduate of Lewisburg High School.
She had been employed by Donahoe Furniture, Lewisburg, and with White Shield.
Pearl was a member of Winfield Baptist Church, where she served as organist for a short time.
She enjoyed music, reading, TV game shows and, as a people person, visiting with people.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by one brother and sister-in-law, Raymond and Priscilla Bowersox, of Lewisburg; two sisters and one brother-in-law, Esther and Myron Leighow, of White Hall Road, Danville, and Lorraine Spickler, of Mifflinburg; three stepchildren and their spouses, Diane and Charles Kunkle, of Marysville, Audrey and Bob Peters, of New Bloomfield, and Wayne Hollenbach, of Winfield; three stepgrandchildren, Shawn Kunkle, Joshua Clendenin and Brandy Clendenin; one brother-in-law, William Paige Jr.; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by one sister, Ethel Paige; one brother, John Bowersox, in infancy; and one brother-in-law, Harold Spickler.
Funeral services were held Fri., Feb. 19, at Winfield Baptist Church. The Rev. Corey A. Mitchell officiated.
Burial was in Mifflinburg Cemetery.
