Kelly J. Walker-Dana
Kelly J. Walker-Dana, 42, of 1372 Pine Bark Lane, Mifflinburg passed away at 7:20 p.m. Saturday, June 6, 2009, while camping with family in Hartley Township, Union County.
Kelly was born June 17, 1966, in Lewisburg, a daughter of Neil R. and Jeanette L. (Hauck) Walker of Mifflinburg. On July 13, 2007, in Lewisburg, she was united in marriage Thomas Allen Dana, who survives.
She was a graduate of Mifflinburg High School, Class of 1984.
Kelly was a housewife, who enjoyed playing bingo and camping.
In addition to her parents and husband, she is survived by one daughter, Jenna J. Gibbs at home; one stepson and daughter-in-law, Paul and Amy Dana of Bloomsburg; one stepdaughter, Valarie Dana of Lewisburg; two brothers and one sister-in-law, Wayne A. and Tanya Walker of Lewisburg, and Timothy S. Walker of Lewisburg; one sister and one brother-in-law, Tammy L. and Allen Smith of Lewisburg; and a granddaughter, Mysti Showers of Lewisburg.
She was preceded in death by one brother, David N. Walker.
Family and friends may call from 10 to 11 a.m. Thurs., June 11, followed by a funeral service at 11, at the Schwartz-Adamo Funeral and Cremation Services, 247 Chestnut St., Mifflinburg, with the Rev. Ned L. Knisely, officiating.
Interment will be in the Mazeppa Union Cemetery, Buffalo Township, Union County.

Barbara Marguerite Mullany
Marguerite Mullany, 83, of 228 Maple St. for the past 24 years, entered into rest at 10:53 p.m. Saturday, June 6, 2009, at her home.
She was born Dec. 11, 1925, in Mifflinburg, a daughter of the late Hoyt F. and Nettie V. (Christman) Zimmerman. She was married to Martin Frank Mullany who preceded her in death on Feb. 15, 2005.
Barbara was a 1943 graduate of Mifflinburg High School.
She was employed by the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Resources as a secretary for 25 years.
Barbara enjoyed her dog, Marty, and sharing time with her family who lovingly knew her as “Nanny.”
She is survived by three sons and two daughters-in-law, Stephen C. and Carol K. Mullany, Michael and Denise G. Mullany, and Pat J. Mullany, all of Mifflinburg; one daughter, Barbara A. Campbell of Mifflinburg; one brother and sister-in-law, James and Jean Marie Zimmerman of Mifflinburg; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Patricia and Kenneth Smith of Mifflinburg, and Doris and Raymond Galer of Middleburg; eight grandchildren and their spouses, Curtis C. and Jessica E. Mullany of New Cumberland, Michael S. Mullany, Christopher S. and Nicole Mullany, all of Mifflinburg, Jonathan R.M. and Amanda Mullany of Halifax, Abby C. Mullany, Stewart A. Stump, Adam P. Hartman, all of Mifflinburg, and Megan N. and Joseph Sharp of New Columbia; and seven great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by one sister, Jean Reading.
The funeral will be conducted privately at the convenience of the family.

Barbara J. Dietrich
Barbara J. Dietrich, 60, of 1272 Buffalo Creek Road, Mifflinburg entered into rest at 8:04 a.m. Saturday, June 6, 2009, at her residence. She was born Oct. 2, 1948, in Lewisburg, a daughter of the late Robert Eugene Sr. and Elizabeth Ilean (Hart) Morrison. On Sept. 24, 1976, she was united in marriage to Roy Earl Dietrich, who survives.
Barbara graduated from Mifflinburg Area High School, Class of 1966.
She was employed as a resident aide at the former Laurelton Center until its closing, when she transferred to the Harrisburg State Hospital and worked as a mental health aide until her retirement in 2000.
Barbara was of the Lutheran faith and was a member of Buffalo Valley Riding Club.
She enjoyed sewing, knitting, crafts, square dancing, and spending time camping.
She is survived by two sons, Jason M. Grove of Lewisburg and Robert E. Dietrich of Mifflinburg; three daughters and two sons-in-law, Mary A. and Mark Bingaman of Millmont, Theresa L. and Ken Monad of Woodsboro, Texas, and Eugina M. Stevens of Sunbury; nine grandchildren; one brother and sister-in-law, Bernard E. and Marlene Morrison of Montgomery; and one sister-in-law, Jane Morrison of Watsontown.
She was preceded in death by four brothers; Robert E. Jr., Ned, John R., and Leroy E. Morrison.
Funeral services will be private.

Mary Elizabeth “Betty” Reeder
Mary Elizabeth “Betty” Reeder, 94, former resident of Riverfront Apartments, Sunbury, passed away on Saturday, June 6, 2009, at Nottingham Village, Northumberland where she had been a resident for the past four years.
She was born Nov. 30, 1914, in Sunbury, a daughter of the late Harry and Mary E. (Stover) Houseworth. Betty married Charles Edward Reeder who preceded her in death on Feb. 24, 1947.
She was a 1932 graduate of Miflinburg school and attended Sunbury grammer schools.
Betty was a secretary for several various businesses including the principal and later the superintendent at the Northumberland High School and was also secretary for the Northumberland Board of Education. Betty later became secretary for Russ Eisenhower’s county office in Sunbury before retiring in 1976 from Rea and Derick, Inc. offices in Northumberland.
She attended the First Presbyterian Church in Northumberland where she was a member of the choir and organist. She most recently attended St. John’s Lutheran Church, Northumberland and was a member of the choir and a member of the Ruth and Naomi Sunday school class.
Betty was a volunteer for the Salvation Army and Red Cross and worked the Northumberland County voting polls, where she could again exercise her wonderful secretarial skills. She was a life member of the Priestley Chapter 423, Order of Eastern Star, Northumberland, where she held the office of treasurer.
Betty was an avid Penn State and Joe Paterno fan.
She is survived by three daughters and two sons-in-law, Ann and Richard Ulp of Camp Hill, Judith H. and James Brunner of Bedford, Mass., and Susan Stamm of Northumberland; nine grandchildren, Steven, Scott and Greg Ulp, Karen Dimmick, Charles “Chuck” and Todd Brunner, Melissa Fisher, Mark and Kim Stamm; and nine great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, Horace and Alfred Houseworth, one sister, Geraldine Masterson, and one son-in-law, Ray Stamm.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Fri., June 12, at St. John’s Lutheran Church, 300 Queen St., Northumberland, with her pastor, the Rev. Dale F. Biesecker Jr. officiating.
Burial will be in Riverview Cemetery, Northumberland
In lieu of flowers, donations in Betty’s name may be made to the St. John’s Lutheran Church Organ Fund, 300 Queen St., Northumberland, PA 17857.
Arrangements are by the Joseph W. Epler Funeral Home, 210 King St., Northumberland.
Charlotte R. Styers
Charlotte R. Styers, 80, of 248 Walnut St., Mifflinburg since 1955, went home to be with her Lord and Savior at 5:30 p.m. Thursday, June 4, 2009, at Evangelical Community Hospital, Lewisburg, where she had been a patient for two days.
She was born Nov. 30, 1928, in Buffalo Township, a daughter of the late John M. and Katie M. (Wolfe) Reamer. On June 27, 1947, in the Buffalo Valley Church of the Brethren, Mifflinburg, with Rev. Mervin Mensch performing the ceremony, she married William Calvin Styers, who survives.
Charlotte was a 1945 graduate of Mifflinburg High School.
Charlotte was employed as the head cashier at J.J. Newberry’s Department Store, Lewisburg, for many years. Earlier in life, she worked at PHILCO, Watsontown, and the Milton Shoe Factory.
She was an active member of the Buffalo Valley Church of the Brethren, Mifflinburg, where she served as a lifetime deacon, church clerk and member of the Women’s Fellowship. She coordinated food stands and meals, and enjoyed making soup for the church love feast.
She enjoyed traveling with her husband, with whom she shared nearly 62 years of marriage. Together they successfully traveled to 48 states. Charlotte was known for braiding her “first prize” rugs for family and friends.
In addition to her loving husband she is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Thomas E. and Roxanne M. Styers, of Mifflinburg; one daughter and son-in-law, Wendy L. and Don L. King, of Federal Way, Wash.; four brothers and one sister-in-law, John N. and Carol Reamer, of Mifflinburg, Lee Reamer, of Aaronsburg, Luther Reamer, of Millersburg, and Arthur Reamer; two sisters and one brother-in-law, Anna Schreck of Mifflinburg, and Dorothy and George Richard, Sr., of Middleburg; five grandchildren and their spouses, Tracy S. and Corey Solomon, Heather R. Reid, and Kristy M. and Eric Heintzelman, all of Mifflinburg, Wade T. and Kristina Styers of Bridgeport, and Jeff L. and Melissa Christian, of San Antonio, Texas; and 12 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, Elwood Reamer, and Francis “Fritz” Reamer.
Funeral services were held Tues., June 9, at the Buffalo Valley Church of the Brethren, 46 Brethren Church Road., Mifflinburg. Rev. Randall C. Fiske officiated.
Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Martha Rae Grove
Martha Rae (Mitchel) Grove, 42, of West Milton, was pronounced dead on Saturday, May 30, 2009.
She was born Sept. 13, 1966, in Lewisburg, a daughter of JoAnn S. Sanders, of Watsontown, and John S. Mitchel Jr., of Milton.
Martha was a 1984 graduate of Mifflinburg High School.
She enjoyed collecting Coca-Cola memorabilia, playing cards and games, reading, crocheting and having her coffee. Martha had a warm caring heart, who would always reach out to help others.
She is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Tiffany N. and Jamie Providenti, of Huntington, W.Va., with a grandchild on the way; one son, Zachary T. Grove, of Trevorton; three sisters and two brothers-in-law, Margaret A. Henry, of Watsontown, Nancy M. and Dale Rovenolt and Cathy J. and Aaron Randall, of Manassas, Va.; one brother and sister-in-law, Lester S. and Loretta Mitchel; four nieces and four nephews; and two great-nieces and two great-nephews.
A celebration of life service was conducted Sat., June 6, at Keithan’s Garden, Sunbury. The Rev. Dick Vanada of Glen Iron Christ Community Church, Millmont, officiated.
