Elizabeth A. Yoder
    Elizabeth A. Yoder, 88, passed away Sunday, June 14, 2009, at Buffalo Valley Lutheran Village, Lewisburg.
    Born in Lancaster on Sept. 19, 1920, she was a daughter of Samuel and Fannie (Miller) Augsburger. She grew up in the Amish Church. She married her husband, Crist S. Yoder, on March 23, 1944, and joined him in Civilian Public Service in Wisconsin. Crist preceded her in death on March 7, 2002, after 57 years of marriage.
    Elizabeth assisted her husband on the farm and enjoyed planting and raising vegetables and spending time in her flower garden. Later, she did house cleaning in the Lewisburg area.
    A member of Buffalo Mennonite Church, she enthusiastically supported the work of Christ.
    Elizabeth was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend, and will be missed.
    Surviving are three daughters and sons-in law, Ferne and Ken Gochnauer, of Wrightsville, Marcella and Dr. David Kerstetter, of Bedford, and Virginia and James Weaver, of Lititz; four sons and daughters-in-law, Samuel and Barbara Yoder, of Chambersburg, Glenn and Lynn Yoder, of Lewisburg, Calvin and Colleen Yoder, of Towanda, and Joseph and Judy Yoder, of Lewisburg; one sister, Mary Miller, of East Earl; 19 grandchildren; and 22 great-grandchildren.
    In addition to her husband and parents, she was predeceased by two grandsons, Jeffrey Gochnauer and Steven Yoder; two brothers, Jacob and Samuel Augsburger; and three sisters, Barbara Smoker, Anna Lapp and Edna Kauffman.
    Friends will be received from 6 to 9 p.m. Thurs., June 18, at the Cronrath-Grenoble Funeral Home, South Second and St. Louis streets, Lewisburg, and again from 10 to 11 a.m. Friday at Buffalo Mennonite Church, 4445 Hoffa Mill Road, Lewisburg, where the funeral will be held at 11. Officiating will be her minister, Pastor C. David Peachey.
    Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
    The family suggests memorial contributions be made to Radio Station WPGM, 8 E. Market St., Danville, PA 17821.

Benjamin Kline Burns
    Benjamin Kline Burns, 99, of Milton and formerly of Lewisburg, passed away on Thursday, June 11, 2009, at Kramm Health Care Center in Milton, where he resided the past four years.
    He was born May 14, 1910, near Winfield, Union Township, a son of Harry M. and Olive L. (Kline) Burns. On July 3, 1937, he married the former Carrie E. Rheppard who preceded him in death on Aug. 5, 1999.
    Benjamin was employed as a garage foreman with PennDot in Union County for 15_ years until retiring in October 1975, and previously worked for Lewisburg Concrete Products and Lewisburg Builders Supply Co.
    He enjoyed hunting and fishing and was a member of the Buffalo Rod & Gun Club in Lewis Township. For many years, his lifetime friend, Dr. John Albright, provided the transportation and accompanied him on weekly trips every Thursday to the Albright hunting cabin, and Benjamin always looked forward to his companionship.
    He was predeceased by three sisters, Blanche Snyder, Ethel Griffith and Beulah Hummel, and five brothers, Kenneth, George, Clayton, Linwood, and Sherwood Burns.
    Funeral services were held Tues., June 16, at Cronrath-Grenoble Funeral Home, S. Second & St. Louis Streets, Lewisburg.
    Burial followed in Winfield Cemetery.

Donald G. Hauck
    Donald G. Hauck, 79, of 3059 Buffalo Road, Lewisburg passed away on Tuesday, June 9, 2009, at his home.
    He was born Dec. 21, 1929, in Snydertown, Northumberland County, a son of the late William G. and Bertha (Smith) Hauck. He married the former Mable L. Follmer on March 5, 1949, and they observed 55 years together until her death on Oct. 4, 2004.
    Donald was a 1948 graduate of Milton High School and worked as a carpenter and millwright for the former John Thatcher & Son, Inc. of Milton.
    He enjoyed camping, woodworking (especially making walking sticks) and photography. He also spent time gardening and target shooting.
    He is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, William E. and Barbara Hauck of Mifflinburg; two daughters and sons-in-law, Dianna L. and Larry Bailor of Dalmatia and Elaine K. and Barry Mitchel of Mifflinburg; 12 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
    In addition to his wife and parents, he was predeceased by one sister, Catherine.
    Funeral services were held Mon., June 15, at the Cronrath-Grenoble Funeral Home, South Second and St. Louis Streets, Lewisburg.
    Burial followed in Twin Hills Memorial Park, Muncy.

Lorma Uleele (Baker) Doebler
    Lorma Uleele (Baker) Doebler, 76, of 111 Keila Ave., Lewisburg passed away on Monday, June 8, 2009, at the Evangelical Community Hospital, surrounded by her children.
    She was born Dec. 18, 1932, in New Columbia, a daughter of the late Carral Rae and L. Pauline (Haggy) Baker. In 1954, she married Robert C. Thomas, who predeceased her. In July 1985, she married W. Sherman Doebler II, who passed away in March 1996.
    A 1950 graduate of Milton High School, she received a nursing degree from the Williamsport Hospital School of Nursing in 1954.
    She was employed as a Registered Nurse by the Laurelton State Village, Evangelical Community Hospital and SUN Home Health Care. She participated in the Harvard Medical School Nurse’s Health Study for more than 33 years.
    An active member of Christ’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, Lewisburg, Lorma served on both the Evangelism and the Worship and Music Committees and also became a member of The Stephen Ministry. She sang in the Parish Choir for one season and was a member of the Altar Guild.
    Lorma was a devoted mother and grandmother who loved music, enjoyed reading hardback books, spent lots of time cooking, thoroughly enjoyed celebrating holidays and greatly valued her church family. She was well gifted in telling stories of her personal experiences.
    Surviving are her four children, daughter, Caryl Rae Thomas and fiancé, Jack Buehner of Lewisburg, son, Lynn Thomas and companion Brenda Mader of Lewisburg, daughter, Tamra Thomas of Lewisburg, and son, Kim Thomas of Montgomery, Ala.; and four grandchildren, Brandon Thomas of Dayton, Texas, and Katelyn Ryan, Colin Ryan and Kevin Ryan, all of Westfield, Ind.
    Funeral services were held Sat., June 13, at Christ’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, 100 S. Third St., Lewisburg. It was officiated by her pastor, the Rev. William S. Henderson.
    Burial followed in Lewisburg Cemetery.
