Robert E. “Bob” Yetter
    Robert E. “Bob” Yetter, 40, of Yale Drive, Selinsgrove passed away at 7:30 a.m. Sunday, June 21, 2009, at Evangelical Community Hospital, Lewisburg.
    He was born July 13, 1968, in Lewistown, a son of Norman S. Jr. and Betty Jane E. (Bennage) Yetter of Middleburg.
    He attended Middleburg High School with the Class of 1986.
    Bob was a self-employed truck driver and had previously driven for different freight carriers.
    He was a member of professional trucking associations and had formerly been active in the Rescue Hose Company, Beavertown.
    Bob enjoyed hunting and woodworking as well as tinkering with automobiles.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by five sons, Joshua David, Andrew Michael and Brent Daniel Yetter, all of Mifflinburg, Tyler Jacob Walter of Montandon and Daniel Webster Yetter of Selinsgrove; his fiancee, Debbie Straub of Selinsgrove; one sister, Teresa D. Prucnal of Middleburg; two brothers, Rick A. Yetter of Lewisburg and Rodney A. Yetter of Millmont; three nieces and two nephews; and four great-nieces and one great-nephew.
    Funeral services were held Tues., June 23, at Christ “Hassinger’s White” Lutheran Church, Route 522, Middleburg. The Rev. Gary W. Owens officiated.
    Burial followed in the church cemetery.

Kenneth C. Stahl
    Kenneth C. Stahl, 94, of 9890 Buffalo Road, Mifflinburg and formerly of 330 Johnstown Road, entered into eternal rest at 8:55 p.m. Saturday, June 20, 2009, at The Manor at Penn Village, Selinsgrove, where he had been a guest for the past week.
    He was born May 19, 1915, in Northumberland County, a son of the late Clarence “Pittsburg” and Ruth (Harris) Stahl. On June 5, 1936, Ken was united into marriage at the Milton Holiness Church to the former Minnie P. Chappel, who passed away on May 2, 2006.
    He and his late wife owned and operated Stahl’s Sales Gallery, Mifflinburg, for 49 years. Earlier in life he was engaged in farming and worked for Merrit, Chapman & Scott Steel Mill, Milton, retiring in 1977.
    Ken has been associated with God’s Missionary Church, Millmont for over 60 years.
    He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and collecting antiques.
    He is survived by seven sons and six daughters-in-law, Clarence “Sam” and Miriam “Mim” Stahl of Winfield, William “Bill” and Nancy Stahl of Mifflinburg, Kenneth “Pete” and Ruth Ann Stahl of Danville, Richard “Rich” and Kaye Stahl of Northumberland, James “Jim” and Nora Stahl of Mifflinburg, Joseph “Joe” Stahl and his companion Melissa Rhodermel of Mifflinburg, Wayne and Carol Stahl of Mifflinburg; two daughters and sons-in law, Betty Jean “Dot” and Mark Snyder of Port Trevorton, Grace and Keith “Al” Ditty of Northumberland; 24 grandchildren; 36 great-grandchildren; and numerous great-great-grandchildren.
    He was preceded death by one son, Carl Stahl, five brothers, and one sister.
    Funeral services were held Wed., June 24, at Schwartz-Adamo Funeral and Cremation Services, 247 Chestnut St., Mifflinburg. The Rev. Fred Bennett, pastor of the God’s Missionary Church, Millmont, officiated.
    Interment was in the Harmony Cemetery, Milton.

Clair W. Frantz
    Clair W. Frantz, 72, of McEwensville, a well-known Allis-Chalmers Tractor collector, passed away Thursday, June 18, 2009, at his home.
    Born May 9, 1937, in Williamsport, he was a son of the late Walter and Helen (Kepner) Frantz. On October 23, 1959, he married the former Joanne K. Fry and they would have celebrated 50 years of marriage this coming October.
    A 1956 graduate of Lewisburg High School, he graduated from Williamsport Technical Institute in 1959 and held his first job with Campbell Mills.
    A heavy-equipment operator all his working years, he had worked for R.A. Callenberger Construction and later became a co-owner of Straight Line Construction, later known as Frantz and Moser Construction, which he operated for many years. For the past 14 years he was employed at Dave Gutelius Excavating, Mifflinburg.
    During the late 1960s and early 1970s, Clair was an instructor at the Williamsport Area Community College for their heavy-equipment operators’ courses and drove school buses for the college for area technical students.
    He was a member of Watsontown Lodge #401 F & AM and the Williamsport Consistory, and a member of the Midwest Watch Fob Collectors. He was a former member of McEwensville Fire Company and the Turbotville Lions Club.
    Clair was an avid Allis-Chalmers collector of all items from full size tractors, toys and memorabilia. His extensive collection was one of his life passions.
    Surviving, in addition to his wife, are two daughters and one son-in-law: Mitzi G. and David Moser of Mifflinburg; Lisa C. Wanyo of Bear Creek; one son, Chris W. Frantz of Williamsport; three grandchildren, Sheena Irvine, Joshua Moser, and Morgan Wanyo; one brother and sister-in-law, Earl and Virginia Frantz of, Winfield; and one sister, Sonia McElyea, Mount Airy, Md.
    Friends are invited to call from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday, June 25, at Brooks Funeral Home, 207 Broadway Street, Turbotville, where a memorial service will be held at 7 p.m. with his sister-in-law, Virginia Frantz, C.L.S., officiating.

David Lewis Kenamond
    David Lewis Kenamond, 57, of 651 Lincoln Ave., Williamsport, died as a result of a traffic accident on Wednesday, June 17, 2009.
    He was born June 14, 1952, in Lewisburg, a son of Sarah (Paxton) Kenamond, of Mifflinburg, and the late Lewis V. Kenamond.
    David was valedictorian of the 1970 graduating class of Mifflinburg Area High School where he enjoyed participating in all sports. He attended Bucknell University on a baseball scholarship and graduated in 1974 in civil engineering. He was a member of Phi Beta Kappa.
    David was employed by Andritz, Inc. in Muncy for 35 years. He was highly respected by his co-workers and traveled worldwide in his position.
    He was an avid golfer, enjoyed membership in the Milton Investment Club and was devoted to his family.
    David is survived by his wife of 29 years, Donna L. Slack Kenamond; his daughter, Tara, and son-in-law, Chris Smith, and granddaughter, Brenna, of Montoursville; his mother, Sarah Paxton Kenamond, of Mifflinburg; one brother and sister-in-law, John and Nancy Kenamond, of Mifflinburg; one sister and brother-in-law, Kay and Brick Kepler, of Lewisburg; and numerous nieces and nephews.
    Memorial services were held Mon., June 22, at the Crouse Funeral Home, 133 E. Third St., Williamsport. A memorial service was also held Tues., June 23, at First Lutheran Church, 404 Market St., Mifflinburg. Pastor Dennis Beaver officiated.
    Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105, or to a charity of the donor’s choice.
Mark Anthony Walsh
    Mark Anthony Walsh, 54, of 139 Meadow Green Dr., Mifflinburg for the past four years, formerly of Germantown, Md., entered into rest at 10:35 a.m. Thursday, June 18, 2009, at Evangelical Community Hospital, Lewisburg.
    He was born May 6, 1955, in Mount Carmel, a son of the late William G. and Helen (Noon) Walsh. On May 4, 1991, in Weirton, W. Va., he married the former Catherine J. Rice, who survives.
    Mark was a 1973 graduate of Our Lady of Lourdes High School, Shamokin. He later earned his bachelor’s degree at the University of Maryland.
    He was a member of the St. George Catholic Church, Mifflinburg.
    Mark enlisted in the Air Force in 1974 and retired as Master Sergeant after 20 years of service.
    He worked mostly in journalism, writing for the Stars and Stripes while serving in Germany and England. Mark also worked in the Pentagon.
    The love of Mark’s life was his family and his two daughters, Veronica and Colleen. He enjoyed collecting and running model trains, and spending time with his two pugs.
    He was a life member of the Knights Of Columbus, Mount Carmel.
    Surviving, in addition to his wife, Cathy, are two daughters, Veronica E. Walsh, and Colleen M. Walsh, both of Mifflinburg; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Richard and Pervine Walsh of Fredericksburg, Md., and Robert and Mary Lou Walsh of Sunbury; two sisters and one brother-in-law, Rose Harmon of Tijeras, N.M., and Elizabeth and Gregory Milanek of Wyomissing; and one sister-in-law, Connie Walsh of Virginia Beach, Va.
    He was preceded in death by one brother, William Walsh.
    A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated Tues., June 23, with the Rev. Joseph Fennessy, as celebrant.
    The family was assisted by the Roupp Funeral Home Inc., 8594 Old Turnpike Rd., Mifflinburg.

Leo Dean Beachel
    Leo Dean Beachel, 57, of Old Greenwood Road, Millville passed away on Thursday morning, June 18, 2009, at his home.
    He was born Feb. 19, 1952, in Bloomsburg, a son of Elizabeth M. (Sinton) Beachel, of Milton, and the late Harrison Bailey.
    Leo was a truck driver for Zimmerman Truck Lines, Mifflintown.
    He attended God’s Missionary Church in New Columbia and was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles, Milton.
    In addition to his mother, he is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Charlotte and Michael Snyder, of Millville; three sons and a daughter-in-law, Shane and Crystal Moyer, of Milton, and Jeremy Beachel and Jason Beachel, both of Paducah, Ky.; five grandchildren; four brothers, Melvin Beachel, of Mifflinburg, Thorp Beachel, of Hughesville, Marvin Beachel, of Hughesville, and Donald Beachel, of Montandon; and three sisters, Nora Doresky, of Middleburg, Diana Sheaffer, of Millerstown, and Nancy Zandarski, of Mifflinburg.
    Funeral services were held Sun., June 21, at the Shaw Funeral Home, 400 N. Front St., Milton. The Rev. Matt Ellison officiated.
    Internment was in Greenlawn Memorial Park, Montgomery.

Luella H. Ebersole
    Luella H. Ebersole, 89, of 12349 Huyett Lane, Hagerstown, Md. passed away on Wednesday, June 17, 2009, at the Mennonite Fellowship Home in Hagerstown, where she lived.
    She was born Dec. 16, 1919, in Lititz, Pa., a daughter of the late Christ and Anna (Hernley) Risser. She and her husband, Paul H. Ebersole, were married July 31, 1941. They observed 67 years together before his death March 1.
    Luella was a member of Hartleton Mennonite Church, Millmont.
Surviving are one son and daughter-in-law, J. Mark and June Ebersole, of Myerstown, Pa.; two brothers and one sister-in-law, Clarence and Marion Risser and Paul Risser, all of Lititz; three sisters, Miriam Martin, of Waynesboro, Pa., and Arlene Risser and Esther Ebersole, both of Lebanon, Pa.; two grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
    In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by one sister, Edna Sauder, and one brother, Samuel Risser.
    Funeral services were held Mon., June 22, at Hartleton Mennonite Church, 420 Laurel Road, Millmont. Officiating was the local ministry with burial to follow in the adjoining church cemetery.
    Assistance to the family was provided by the Cronrath-Grenoble Funeral Home, South Second and St. Louis streets, Lewisburg.

Rev. George W. Henry
    One of God’s most faithful died Monday, June 15, 2009 after a short stay at RiverWoods, Lewisburg. The Rev. George W. Henry was born July 1, 1927, in Harrisburg to Bernard S. Henry and Katherine (Hamm) Henry.
    After graduation from high school, George served in the Army during World War II and was stationed in Rheims, France. He married Jean Bowman, of Lebanon, and on May 10, they celebrated 61 years of marriage.
    George trained as a pastry chef and even owned his own bakery in Harrisburg in the late 1950s.
    In 1962, he went into the parish ministry. He attended Wesley Theological Seminary in Washington, D.C., and was ordained in 1965. He faithfully served churches in Baltimore, Md., and western and central Pennsylvania for 30 years. In 1992, he retired from Zion United Church of Christ, Kratzerville, after nearly 10 years of ministry. After completing CPE training, he served as the director of pastoral care at Sunbury Community Hospital for five years and also was a contract chaplain for the Pennsylvania Council of Churches at the Selinsgrove Center for 14 years. Additionally, after retirement, he faithfully served eight congregations of the United Church of Christ as interim pastor for more than 10 years.
    He was a member of Trinity United Church of Christ, Watsontown.
    Pastor Henry also served as chaplain of American Legion Post 957, New Berlin. He was a member of Free & Accepted Masons Lodge 370 in Mifflinburg and was a past high priest of Royal Arch Chapter 174. He was a member of the Scottish Rite Consistory and Zembo Shrine in Harrisburg. He was a lifelong pilot with more than 1,000 hours of flying time. Earlier in life, he had been a volunteer fireman and coached Little League baseball.
    The truth is, serving others was his life’s work. He was loved by those he served and will be dearly missed.
    He is survived by his faithful wife, Jean; two sons and daughters-in-law, Michael G. and Kasthuri Henry, of Chicago, Ill., and the Rev. Edward A. and Michelle Henry, of Watsontown; seven grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; one brother, Paul B. Henry, of Philadelphia; and two sisters, Beulah R. Given and Bernice A. Speelman, both of Harrisburg.
    A memorial service to celebrate his life will be held at 2:33 p.m. July 1 in Trinity United Church of Christ, 602 Main St., Watsontown, with his son, the Rev. Ed Henry, officiating. Military honors will be accorded by combined veterans organizations. The family will be receiving friends immediately following the service in the social hall of the church.
    In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions in his memory be made to his church.
    Arrangements have been entrusted to the Brooks Funeral Home, 124 Main St., Watsontown.

John F. Korman
    John F. Korman, 78, of Mechanicsburg, a former resident of the Mifflinburg area, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Thursday, March 12, 2009.
    He was born March 25, 1930, in Hartleton, a son of the late William C. and Edna (Lutz) Korman. He was married for 59 years to the former Lucille Musser, who survives.
    John was a graduate of Mifflinburg High School, Class of 1948.
    He was a former owner and operator of a dairy farm for 10 years in the Hartleton area before joining the Pennsylvania Farm Bureau. For his outstanding accomplishments as a farmer, John received the American Farmer Degree in 1951. John retired as a district sales manager with Potacan Inc., following many years of employment in similar positions with Allied Chemical and the Potash Corp. of America.
    He was a member of Dillsburg Brethren in Christ Church and the Penn State Lime and Fertilizer Conference.
    John enjoyed many hobbies, including traveling, gardening, hunting, reading, watching and playing golf. John will be remembered for many things, but especially for his unique sense of humor.
    In addition to his wife, he is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Kathleen R. and Norman Smith of Elizabethtown and Sharon K. and Baird Hershey of York Springs; one son and daughter-in-law, John M. and Alyson Korman of Sewickley; three sisters, Sarah Eisler of Woodbury, N.J., Ethel Schnure of Mifflinburg and Kathryn Moraski of Schuylkill Haven; five grandchildren, Rebecca Carpenter and husband Timothy, Bethany Watts and husband Randy, Joshua Hershey and fiancee Jessica Rodriguez, Benjamin Hershey and his sweetheart, Renea Keller, and Andrew Hershey; and three great-grandchildren, Daniel and Hope Watts and Grant Carpenter.
    John was preceded in death by his brother, Lawrence Korman.
    Memorial services were held Saturday, March 21. Burial took place in Sunnyside Cemetery, York Springs.
