Warren Marlow Bingaman
Warren Marlow Bingaman, 73, of 316 Smith St., New Berlin entered into rest at 1:55 a.m. June 1, 2009, at the Hershey Medical Center, where he had been a patient for the past 17 days. He had been in failing health for the past year. He was a resident of New Berlin for 51 years, and lived in Selinsgrove prior to that.
He was born Aug. 21, 1935, in Selinsgrove, a son of the late Orvin Marlow and Grace Susan (Steffen) Bingaman. On April 26, 1958, he married the former Audrey Jean Herman, who survives.
Warren was a 1953 graduate of Selinsgrove High School.
He was an owner-operator of an over the road tractor trailer. Prior to this, he was employed at the former Huntington Throwing Mills, Mifflinburg, Pennsylvania Power and Light Company, and as a route supervisor for Real French Cleaners.
He was a member of Emmanuel United Church of Christ, New Berlin, where he served several terms on the consistory, was head trustee for many years, and as a Sunday school teacher for youth and adult classes.
Warren was a member of the New Berlin Fire Company, the Loyal Order of Moose, Lodge 1396, Mifflinburg and the Union County Sportsmens Club, Weikert.
He was involved in sports as a participant and coach. He coached Little League and Pony baseball teams, and played for many years in Legion ball, fast-pitch and slow-pitch softball. He also worked with the New Berlin Boy Scout Troops for many years as an assistant scout leader.
He enjoyed golf, hunting and spending time with his friends as the hunting cabin in Union County.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Jeffrey William and Wanda Kay Bingaman, of Mifflinburg, and Gregory Allen and Ruth Helen Bingaman of Medical Lake, Wash., five granddaughters, Andrea M. Bingaman, Amber K. Bingaman, Alexis J. Bingaman, Samantha C. Bingaman and Brittany T. Bingaman; one sister and brother-in-law, Carol and Leroy Otto of Kreamer; one brother and sister-in-law, Lee H. and Alma Bingaman of Sunbury; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Thurs., June 4, at 11 a.m. in Emmanuel United Church of Christ, New Berlin. The Rev. Alice D. Rauch, his pastor, will officiate.
Burial will follow in the New Berlin Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Warren’s memory may be made to the Memorial Fund of Emmanuel United Church of Christ, 326 Market St., New Berlin, PA 17855.

Benjamin F. Hoffman
Benjamin F. Hoffman, 84, of Selinsgrove, passed away on Monday, June 1, 2009, at The Manor at Penn Lutheran, Selinsgrove.
He was born Sept. 27, 1924, in Sunbury, a son of the late Harry and Grace (Galer) Hoffman. He was married to the former Virginia Mae Koppenheffer who preceded him in death on Dec. 24, 2002.
Ben was a 1942 graduate of Sunbury High School and served in the Army during World War II.
He was employed for over 30 years by the Pennsylvania Railroad.
Ben was a member of the Union County Sportsman Club and enjoyed going to his cabin at Poe Valley with his family.
He is survived by four children, Tony A. Pulley of Dover, Tenn., Jan L. Hoffman of Sunbury, Chris A. Hoffman of Hollidaysburg, and Jesse K. Hoffman of Selinsgrove; nine grandchildren; five step- grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; two sisters, Betty Long and Cindy Hoffman, both of Camp Hill; one brother, Dave Hoffman of Mifflinburg; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by one son, Michael E. Hoffman, two brothers, Harry and Robert Hoffman, and one sister, Peggy Herman.
Friends may call at 9 to 10 a.m. Fri., June 5, followed by a memorial service at 10, the David T. Zweier Funeral Home, 157 Chestnut St., Sunbury, with the Rev. Thomas Dunkle of the First Reformed Church United Church of Christ, Sunbury, officiating.
Burial will be in Northumberland Memorial Park, Stonington.

John Kermit Wohlheiter
John Kermit Wohlheiter, 72, of Niagara Falls, N.Y. and formerly of Mifflinburg, departed this life on Saturday, May 29, 2009, at the Mount Saint Mary’s Hospital in Lewistown, N.Y.
John was born July 8, 1936, in Forest Hill, Pa., a son of John and Mary Ross Wohlheiter. On Sept. 24, 1956, in Niagra Falls, he married the former Louise A. Catalano, who passed away on Dec. 17, 1993.
He graduated from Mifflinburg High School.
John was an electrician and enjoyed hunting.
He was a member of the American Legion Post 410, and the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1964, both in Mifflinburg, a life member and retired volunteer of the Frontier Fire Co. in Wheatfield, N.Y.
John is survived by two daughters, Deborah Plumeri of Grand Island, N.Y., and Judith Fitzgerald of Las Vegas, Nev.; one brother, Harold Wohlheiter of Mifflinburg; two sisters, Wilma Agrow of New Columbia, Pa., and Bonita Wargo of Milton, Pa.; three grandchildren, Justina, Danielle, and Dylan; and John’s companion, Doreen LeVick of Niagara Falls.
In addition to his wife, John was preceded in death by two sisters, Margaret Hanselman and Ruth Walls.
Services are private and will be held at the convenience of the family.
Aaron E. Reigel
Aaron E. Reigel, 32, of 36 Stanton Ave., Milton entered into eternal rest Sunday morning, May 31, 2009, at his home.
A native of Union County, he was born in Lewisburg, Oct. 29, 1976, a son of Donald E. and Connie (Miles) Reigel, of Lewisburg. He was married to the former Sherry Vincent for one year.
Aaron attended the Hillside Christian Academy.
He worked for New Berlin Plastics for four years.
Aaron enjoyed four wheeling, dirt biking, collecting HO trains, hunting, fishing, and all mechanical work dealing with cars and trucks. He liked rock and roll music and played the drums.
He loved his family and was helpful, friendly and quick to help those in need.
In addition to his wife and parents, he is survived by six children, Jordan, Abbey, Autumn, Logan, Alexis and Marlin; and three siblings, Joy Reigel, Jodi Zechman and Micah Reigel.
Funeral services were held Wed., June 3, at the John H. Shaw III Funeral Home, Market and Eighth sts., Lewisburg.
Burial was in the Milton Cemetery.

Bertha Louise Swartz
Bertha Louise Swartz, 70, of 142 N. 10th St., Lewisburg died Saturday morning, May 30, 2009, at her home.
A native of Union County, she was born in Black Run, Lewisburg, on July 29, 1938, a daughter of the late John Stevenson and Mary Ethel (Smith) Swartz.
She attended the Black Run School.
Bertha was a baker in the food service department of Bucknell University for over 30 years.
She was formerly a member of the Four Square Church but now belonged to the Mifflinburg Christian Missionary Alliance Church. Bertha was active in the church, as a leader in the women’s fellowship of the church, and as a Sunday school teacher.
She enjoyed cooking, embroidery and doing puzzles.
She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Connie Mae and Randall Lilley, of Lewisburg; three grandchildren, Roger, Clint and Rebecca; two sisters, Ethel Reedy, of Lewisburg and Pauline Bingaman, of New Columbia; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held Tues., June 2, at the Mifflinburg Christian Missionary Alliance Church. Her pastor, the Rev. Glen Bayly, officiated.
Burial was in the Mazeppa Cemetery.

Mary Elizabeth Ordway
Mary Elizabeth Ordway, 87, of 1330 Stover Road, Millmont since 1991, entered into rest at 10:15 p.m. Friday, May 29, 2009, at Rolling Hills Manor, where she had resided for the past three weeks.
She was born June 5, 1921, in Good Hope, Ill., a daughter of the late Amos and Rosella (Sears) Geib.
Mary was a 1940 graduate of Middletown High School. Mary served in the Navy during World War II until her honorable discharge on Sept. 28, 1945. While in the Navy on her free time, she frequently visited the wounded at Walter Reed Hospital, Baltimore, and the Naval Hospital, Bethesda, Md.
She was employed as a manager at Holiday Market, Inc., for 22 years, in Valdosta, Ga., retiring in 1991.
Mary actively attended the West End Bible Fellowship, Millmont, where she enjoyed assisting with the food bank. She was also active in the West End Senior Center.
Surviving is one step-sister, Goldie of Arizona, and several cousins.
There will be no public viewing. A memorial service will be conducted at 6 p.m., Sunday, June 7, at the West End Bible Fellowship, 19200 Old Turnpike Road, Millmont, with Pastor Dick DeVett, officiating.
Interment will be in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville.

Roland H. Carl, Jr.
Roland H. Carl, Jr., 68, of New Columbia, passed away on Tuesday, May 26, 2009, at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville.
He was born Aug. 25, 1940, in Reading, a son of the late Roland H. Sr. and Pearl (West) Carl. On June 29, 1963, he married the former Barbara L. Parker, who survives.
Roland was a veteran of the Army and served in Germany as a paramedic.
He was a former employee of the West Co. for more than 30 years, Shop Vac for two years and Ritz-Craft for two years.
He was a former member of the Jamboree Club and a lifetime member of Bass Masters.
Roland enjoyed fishing, woodworking, camping and gardening.
In addition to his wife, Barbara, he is survived by one son, Michael L. Carl of Mifflinburg; four daughters and two sons-in-law, Angela J. and Edward Donlin of Mifflinburg, Elizabeth S. and David Schleig of West Milton, Rebecca A. Kurtz of Lewisburg and Patty E. Hoey and her fiance, Elmer Howell, of Mifflinburg; 15 grandchildren; two brothers, Bart Cianciola of California and Richard Carl of Reading; and one sister, Lois Moyer of Warrensville.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Harvey West, Spencer Carl and Paul Cianciola.
Funeral services were held Fri., May 29, at the Dale E. Ranck Funeral Service, 125 N. Front St., Milton. The Rev. Paula M. Gustafson officiated.
Burial followed in Northumberland Memorial Park, Stonington.

Ruth Rosanna Crossgrove
Ruth Rosanna Crossgrove, 59, of 3075 Red Ridge Road, Mifflinburg for the past 22 years, went to be with her Lord at 6:28 a.m. Wednesday, May 27, 2009, after a lengthy illness, with her family close by her side, at the Geisinger Medical Center, Danville.
She was born Sept. 30, 1949, in Lewisburg, a daughter of the late Fred Goodyear and Beatrice (Sheesley) Rantz. On Dec. 23, 1966, in Lewisburg, she married Fern E. “Bill” Crossgrove, who survives.
Earlier in life, she was employed at the Middleburg Silk Mill, Buggytown Restaurant, Mifflinburg, and also worked as a housekeeper at Dr. Richard Ward’s office, Mifflinburg.
Ruth was a member of the Assembly of God Church, Mifflinburg.
Anyone that was friends with Ruth knew that they would be greeted by her with a huge grin and gleaming eyes. Above everything, Ruth enjoyed time with her family. She spent many hours hand crocheting dolls for her family and friends. Ruth liked to dress in bright colors and could light up a room, especially when she danced at family gatherings. She enjoyed traveling on the road with her husband and vacationing.
In addition to her husband of 42 years, she is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Tammy and Christopher Moyer of Mifflinburg; one sister, Bonnie L. Van Sant of Fredericksburg; four brothers and sisters-in-law, Roy R. and Christine Rantz of Montandon, Robert R. and Eve Rantz of Mifflinburg, Gary L. and Trudy Long of Danville, and Keith and Gallie Foye of Severn, MD; one aunt, Elizabeth Stevenson of Northumberland; one uncle, Paul Sheesley and his wife Lois of Mifflinburg; and two grandchildren, Kimberly E. Moyer and Erika D. Moyer of Mifflinburg.
She was preceded in death by one granddaughter, Addison L. Moyer in 2007.
Funeral services were held Sat., May 30, at the Roupp Funeral Home, Inc., 8594 Old Turnpike Road, Mifflinburg. The Rev. Randall C. Fiske, officiated.
Burial was in the Zion United Methodist Church Cemetery, Middleburg.

Miriam D. (Delcamp) Robenal
Miriam D. (Delcamp) Robenalt, 89, of Millmont, formerly of Mifflinburg, passed away on Wednesday, May 27, 2009.
Services will be private and at the convenience of the family.
Arrangements are being handled by the Dale E. Ranck Funeral Service, 125 N. Front St., Milton.

Audrey E. (Byron) Jordon, 83, of 131 Jordon Lane, entered into rest at 10:39 a.m. Tuesday, May 26, 2009, at her home.
