Kenneth L. Kline
Kenneth L. Kline, 77, of Millmont, entered into rest at 8:10 a.m. Monday, March 1, 2010, at Rolling Hills Manor, Millmont.
He was born Jan. 17, 1933, in West Chillisquaque Township, Northumberland County, a son of the late Roy G. and Grace C. (Bowersox) Kline. On Jan. 14, 1953, in Hagerstown, Md., he married the former Isabel M. Dorman, who survives.
Kenny graduated from Milton High School, Class of 1951. Following graduation, he served in the Army Reserves until his honorable discharge in November 1959.
Kenny retired from the Laurelton State Center, working in the power plant as an electrical engineer.
He was a member of Christ’s United Lutheran (Four Bells) Church and a member of the Buffalo Valley Sportsmen, NRA and North American Hunting Club.
Kenny enjoyed woodworking, carpentry and deer hunting.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Scott A. and Debra Kline, of Millmont; four daughters and three sons-in-law, Debra Woodling, of Millmont, Pamela and Gary Cutler Jr., of Beavertown, Sherri and Paul Klauger, of Laurelton, and Sandra and Troy Keiser, of Milton; 14 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Ralph and Robert Kline, and two sisters, Freida Chapel and Miriam Kerstetter.
Family and friends will be received from 10:30 to 11 a.m. Thurs., March 4, at Christ United Lutheran (Four Bells) Church, 13765 Old Turnpike Road, Millmont, followed by the funeral at 11 with the Rev. John D. Yost officiating.
Interment will be in Hartleton Cemetery, Hartley Township, Union County.
At Kenneth’s request, anyone wishing to make a donation in his memory in lieu of flowers may send contributions to Christ’s United Lutheran Church, 13765 Old Turnpike Road, Millmont, PA 17845.
Funeral arrangements were entrusted to the Schwartz-Adamo Funeral and Cremation Services, 247 Chestnut St., Mifflinburg.
Gracie Lynn Gantt
Lynn Gantt, daughter of Bo R. Gantt and Sheri L. Warren, of New Columbia, was stillborn at 3:10 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 24, 2010, at Evangelical Community Hospital, Lewisburg.
In addition to her parents, she is survived by her maternal grandparents, Dennis and Justine Day, of White Deer, and Eugene and Karen Warren, of Fleming, Ga.; paternal grandfather, Thomas Gantt, of Mifflinburg; maternal great-grandparents, Olivia Snyder, of Watsontown, and Peggy Bird, of Watsontown; paternal great-grandparents, Richard and Patricia Steese, of Mifflinburg, and Wesley Gantt, of Middleburg; three aunts; three uncles; and 12 cousins.
She was preceded in death by her grandmother, Stephanie L. Gantt.
A private funeral service will be conducted at the convenience of the family.
Funeral arrangements are by the Roupp Funeral Home Inc., 8594 Old Turnpike Road, Mifflinburg.
Thomas Linn Taylor
Thomas Linn Taylor, 58, of 25 Aspen St., Mifflinburg for 15 years, entered into rest at 11:41 a.m. Sunday, Feb. 28, 2010, at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville.
He was born May 7, 1951, in Lewisburg, a son of the late Harold C. and Pauline C. (Valentine) Taylor.
Thomas attended Mifflinburg Area High School.
He was employed for many years at Milton Steel.
Surviving are one daughter and son-in-law, Carolyn A. and Michael J. Greusel, of Milton; Tom’s companion, Victoria Byers, of Mifflinburg; one brother, Robert H. Taylor, of New Berlin; three sisters and brothers-in-law, Helen J. and Frank Beirfriend, of Danville, Susan J. and Henry Sanders, of Middleburg, and Sally A. and Terry Kline, of Mifflinburg; six grandchildren; and seven stepgrandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one son, Thomas R. Taylor; three brothers, William, John and James Taylor; and one sister, Mary Taylor.
Friends and family may call from 10 to 11 a.m. Thurs., March 4, at the Roupp Funeral Home Inc., 8594 Old Turnpike Road, Mifflinburg, where the funeral will be conducted at 11 with the Rev. Robert E. Morris officiating.
Burial will be in Mifflinburg Cemetery.

Lydia H. Leinbach
Lydia H. Leinbach, 78, formerly of Narvon, died Sunday morning, Feb. 28, 2010, at her daughter Mary’s home.
Born in New Holland, she was a daughter of the late David Z. and Lizzie M. (Horning) Burkholder. She was preceded in death by her husband, Harvey M. Leinbach, in 1991.
Lydia was a homemaker and a member of the Bowmansville Mennonite Church, Groffdale Conference.
Surviving are two sons, Earl, husband of Rosene N. (Martin) Leinbach, Selinsgrove and Harvey, husband of Louella (Nolt) Leinbach, Lewisburg; three daughters, Miriam, wife of Lamar Nolt, Woodleaf, N.C., Lydia Anne, wife of James Miller, Manheim, and Mary, wife of Jake Zook, Leola; 48 grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; a brother, David H. Burkholder, New Holland; and two sisters, Eva, wife of Aaron Zimmerman, Lititz and Katie, wife of Rufus Martin, Mifflinburg.
She was preceded in death by two daughters, Lucy, deceased wife of Martin Brubaker, Elkton, Ky. and Laura, deceased wife of Adin Brubaker, Mohnton; four brothers, Moses H., Weaver H. Levi H., and Daniel H. Burkholder; and five sisters, Annie H. Martin, Maria H. Reiff, Ida H. Shirk, Lizzie H. Leinbach, and Martha H. Hoover.
A viewing was held at the Edwin Leinbach home, 973 Reading Road, East Earl, Tues., March 2. Her funeral was held at the Edwin Leinbach home, with further services at Bowmansville Mennonite Church, on Wed., March 3. Bishop Titus Martin officiated.
Burial was in the adjoining church cemetery.
The Eckenroth Home for Funerals, Terre Hill is in charge of arrangements.
Steven E. “Beak” Schaffer
Steven E. “Beak” Schaffer, 54, of Harrisburg, died on Thursday afternoon, Feb. 25, 2010, from injuries sustained in an automobile accident on Route 104 near Middleburg.
A native of Union County, he was born April 18, 1955, in Lewisburg, a son of the late Harry E. and Ella Mae (Wagner) Schaffer.
Steve was a 1973 graduate of Lewisburg High School and had attended welding school.
He was employed as a program co-ordinator with the Good Will Industries, Harrisburg, helping the mentally challenged for the past eight years.
Steve was a member of the Susquehanna Valley Motorcycle Club and enjoyed rebuilding motors and riding and repairing British motorcycles. He was an outgoing person, and was well-known by all as doing for others.
He is survived by one son, Christopher and his girlfriend, Kristin Keteyian, of Fairfield, Conn.; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Melanie and William Tallman, of Mifflinburg, and Carol Sagun and Larry Merris, of Mountville; one niece, Kristin Sagun; one nephew, Michael Sagun and his wife Cathy; great-nieces and nephews, Alexandere, Ella Mae and Liza; his best friend, Deb Swab, of Middleburg; and many other friends.
Funeral services were held Mon., March 1, at St. John’s United Church of Christ, Buffalo Road, Lewisburg. The Rev. Paula M. Gustafson officiated.
Burial followed in Dreisbach Church Cemetery. The Susquehanna Valley Motorcycle Club provided honors at the cemetery.
The family asks that donations in Steve’s memory be made to the Goodwill Bridges Program, 1150 Goodwill Drive, Harrisburg, PA 17101.
Funeral arrangements were by the John H. Shaw III Funeral Home, Market and Eighth Streets, Lewisburg.
Samuel E. Girvin
Samuel E. Girvin, 93, of Rolling Hills Manor, 17350 Old Turnpike Road, Millmont since 2007, and formerly of Bellevue and Gap, entered into rest at 8:30 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 24, 2010, at Rolling Hills Manor.
A graveside service was conducted Tues., March 2, in Bellevue Presbyterian Church Cemetery, Gap. The Rev. Ralph T. Unroe officiated. Military honors were accorded by the Red Rose Veterans Honor Guard.
The family was assisted by the Schwartz-Adamo Funeral and Cremation Services, 247 Chestnut St., Mifflinburg.
Annabelle M. Klinger
Annabelle M. Klinger, 86, of Lewisburg, went home with the Lord at 5:30 p.m. Monday, Feb. 22, 2010, at RiverWoods Nursing Home, Lewisburg.
She was born April 22, 1923, in Winfield, Union County, a daughter of the late John and Leva Heintzelman. On March 7, 1953, she married Paul E. Klinger, who preceded her in death on Feb. 21, 2000, following nearly 57 years of marriage.
Annabelle was a graduate of Lewisburg High School and attended Central Pennsylvania Business School in Harrisburg.
She retired from the Central Susquehanna Intermediate Unit as a teacher’s assistant.
Annabelle was a member of Emmanuel Bible Fellowship Church, where she was a caregiver. She volunteered at Sunbury Community Hospital for SUN Home Hospice and for the Foster Grandparents program.
Her love was for her salvation and for her family.
She is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Jeanette and Terry Lesher, of Sunbury, and Donna Burns and Rich Esposito, of Elizabethtown; two sons and daughters-in-law, Roger and Mary Klinger, of Delaware, and Barry and Roberta Klinger, of California; six grandchildren, Kathy Mott, Tony Klinger, Jeff Lesher, Jenny Macklin, Josh Karli and Alicia Karli; 10 great-grandchildren; one sister, Betty Yuhaz; two brothers, Paul and Marlin Heintzelman, of Lewisburg; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by three brothers, Edward, Richard and Malon, and one sister, Evelyn.
Funeral services were held Thurs., Feb. 25, at the David T. Zweier Funeral Home, 157 Chestnut St., Sunbury. Her pastor, the Rev. Charles Cole, officiated.
Burial was in Pomfret Manor Cemetery, Sunbury.
