John Clayton Snyder, 85, of Buffalo Cross Roads, entered into rest at 2:10 p.m. Saturday, May 23, 2009, at the home of his daughter-in-law, where he has resided for the past six years. He was born July 29, 1923, in Mifflinburg, a son of the late Frank B. and Martha R. (Couter) Snyder. John was engaged in farming and a former Buffalo Township Supervisor for 18 years. He was a member of the Mazeppa United Methodist Church. John enjoyed many happy times hunting and fishing with the Grove family in McKean County and at Robbers Roost, Union County. He is survived by two daughters and one son-in-law, Barbara J. Snyder of South Williamsport, and Judith R. and Calvin E. Bragonier of Altoona; his favorite daughter-in-law, Sharon L. Snyder of Lewisburg; three grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and four special dogs. He was preceded in death by one son, William F. Snyder, one sister, Florence C. Dietrick, and one brother-in-law, John K. Dietrick. Funeral services will be conducted privately. Contributions in John’s memory may be made to either the Lycoming County SPCA, 2805 S.
